Read morethe restaurant was cosy homely and bright. the staff were so friendly and answered any questions we had about the menu. the food wasn't what you wld get in a traditional Indian restaurant,, no dishes like tikka massala or korma but omg!!!! everything we had was delicious. starters we had a mix of aubergine pakoras, slow cooked lamb and a bread with chickpeas. I had A chicken and spinach dish for my main I can't remember what others had but it was all delicious. when asking the waiter what a particular dish was, he basically said it translates to "grandma's recipe '. all I can say is I wish she was my grandma!!! . in a normal Indian restaurant it tends to be quite dark and may be not the place for younger, especially girls to go and have a meal. in the punjab cafe they seem to have the lighting and atmosphere just right, so that it is bright, but homely and cozy and we can't wait for our next visit. thank u Roy and all of the other lovely staff at...
Read moreI visited Cafe Punjab this evening after dining once before when it first opened and had an absolutely incredible meal. The restaurant staff are so friendly and welcoming and the food is out of this world.
Everything ordered; Lamb Punjabi Saag Malai Wala, Cafe’s Healthy Hot Chicken, Cafe’s Chicken Special Karahi, King Prawn Molly, Bombay Aloo Methi Wala, Punjabi Mushroom Spinach Lentil, Coriander Naan, Garlic Naan and 2x Pilau Rice.
The King Prawn Molly was without a doubt the most flavourful and delicious curry i’ve ever tasted. The king prawns were gigantic, so juicy and tender and held onto so much flavour from the surrounding sauce. The Bombay Aloo and Mushroom, Spinach and Lentil dish were just the perfect accompaniments to the meal and were again absolutely packed with flavour and were so moreish.
Definitely add this one to your ‘Must...
