Appalling customer service and a total lack of respect for the customers! I phoned G&G @ 13.20 to ensure they were open and still serving food. I was categorically told that if I placed my order by 13.45 we would be served. We arrived approximately 5 minutes later to be told the kitchen had closed. There was no shortage of food or staff, I made the point that I had been promised to be served but no explanation was given. I asked to speak to the manager who, again, couldn’t explain why they had broken their commitment to me. I asked what was the problem/constraint? The ‘manager’ merely said “ there is no need to be rude “ . I asked to clarify how she could accuse me of being rude? She couldn’t think of anything to say apart from “the kitchen is closed”. I said I was very dissatisfied and would reflect this in a review, they were not bothered and said that it wouldn’t impact them as they had been doing ok for the last 5 years. Absolutely appalling and disgraceful in my opinion. I actively search out small local businesses and try to support them, this establishment deserves no support whatsoever. BTW the noticeboard stated closing @ 3 o’clock. A beautiful sunny bank holiday with many potential customers, why not stop serving early and go home! A strange business model!!! We went to Bluebird café and had great food with fantastic customer service despite the significant number...
Read moreNever been to East Preston before. It was a last minute decision, before my family went back to London. The Grub and Gumption has a variety of food and drinks available, and seating inside and out. Dog friendly m, but obviously, common sense needed. Small area, keep your dogs and children (near road) under control. We had take away. Unfortunately, it did take a long time to get our food which ate into our family time together which was limited. But, they were very busy as there was a D-Day event just opposite.
Friendly staff, nice atmosphere, lovely surroundings.
I wouldn't personally order the same again which was a bacon wrap, as the cream cheese made it very unstable, and soggy, so everything fell out of the wrap, and I ended up throwing it away.
My daughter and grandchildren loved their sausages, scrambeled eggs, and beans which were put in a separate container. They said it was very tasty.
Best of all, there take away boxes were recyclable which is a big thumbs up from me.
Children's food came in a box...
Read moreWe had high hopes for year, but it didn't compute. We had a 1 hour wait for our food which actually gave us food poisoning. We both had the scrambled eggs though in different meals, so this could be a reason for it. My hot chocolate was unfortunately watery, and the marshmallows need to be changed as they tasted like they'd been sitting in an open packet for a year.
I wouldn't write this place off completely, and I am definitely open to returning too, though, the prices were extortionate and the Internet password did not work.
The place seems popular, although I overheard multiple comments about the halloumi being too chewy, however I never...
