I visited here on the 17/02/24 for breakfast. I ordered two vegan breakfasts (the only vegan option on the menu) I was served the breakfast by a rude man who I found out later was the owner! I asked him if the breakfast was vegan and he said yes, he thinks so. I didn’t question this at the time but looking back on it I should’ve done. I was half way through my breakfast and I realised that there were bacon bits in my mushroom! I spoke to one of the staff and the owner to let make them aware of the mistake. I don’t think he believed me at first. I asked him to come and look at my breakfast and he confirmed it was bacon. He asked me if I wanted another breakfast or my money back and I opted for my money back. He was rude, dismissive and not empathetic at all. I spoke to a very helpful lady who seemed like a supervisor or something and she was very apologetic and was trying to work out how this had happened. She refunded my partners breakfast and the drinks we had, which was nice of her. She confirmed the rude man was the owner. I haven’t eaten meat for nearly five years and while I don’t think I actually ate the bacon it has left me feeling sick. The lady was helpful and says she usually checks the vegan breakfasts but it seems like she’s fighting a bit of a losing battle against this man. Vegans/vegetarians avoid if you don’t want...
Read moreNew menu with salad options. I wanted a cheese"classic ploughmans" cost £15. When asked what it included it did not include tomato, cucumber, apple, grape or french stick but did include sour bread???? Nothing classic about that! So changed my mind. No jacket potatoes and was told "jackets" are for winter and not for summer !!!!! Bad experience of having to wait 45 minutes, then being told there was a 2 minute delay then further chasing up meant another 15 minute delay. They clearly forgot about our order. When asking for an explanation the embarrassed waitress called the managaress who made the excuse that the chicken burger we ordered was freshly prepared but could not explain why 2 couples who came in after us had been served and had eaten their food before us. Overall not a positive experience. The prices have also noticeably increased. Will now be visiting and taking my service to Bentleys newly opened cafe in Angmering. Need...
Read moreThis small, local café is the perfect place for breakfast. The menu offers a dozen different breakfast dishes to choose from. You can choose from various sandwiches - baguettes, bagels, bruschettas, several types of salads, and traditional English breakfast. The food is freshly prepared and very tasty. The portions are large and filling. The coffee is very good. The staff is friendly. The décor of the place is pleasant.
With a significant number of customers, the café can be a bit chaotic. There are occasional mistakes with orders.
For me, a big downside is the dull knives, which make cutting bruschetta difficult and quite tiring.
The food and coffee were so good that I will...
