A night promising ''live operatic song' with a 3 course meal at this Italian/Sardinian restaurant was eagerly awaited. I love opera and Italian food. The menu choice was limited and the star was a piece of gorgonzola at the end. A dry lamb roulette featured aas a main course and when I say dry, I mean dry. There was no sauce or joy or gravy. Even they offered £5 off without prompting as it was such a poor offering. Worst of all was that the live singer ( and she was a good singer) sang no opera whatsoever. We had show song's, Maria, Walking in the air, a couple of carol type song's and finished with- of all things- ' let's go fly a kite' from Mary poppins. We have been before and had take-away always excellent, but on Wednesday there was a new menu, something really different and delicious. I had gone with the idea of having Lasagne as I had not had that before here, but when I saw the menu, Lasagne became a take-away for tea along with a Panettone. For starters we had swordfish salad and venison sausage, mains wild boar ragu and hunters style rabbit, we forced desserts of apple pie and ice cream all washed down with and excellent Sardinian red wine. Read moreValentines day 2023. The moment we opened the door to this very small family run restaurant we received a warm welcome. Friendly, happy, chatty and attentive staff. Table was set up beautifully with so much attention to detail. Menus rolled up into scrolls with red ribbon. Fab touch! They serve an imported Italian beer that was sooo nice.
