"Anarchy in the UK... and in the Kitchen? Stepping into this so-called punk rock cafe felt less like embracing rebellious energy and more like being thrown into a mosh pit of disappointment. While the haphazard decor might initially scream "authenticity," the experience quickly devolved into a cacophony of bad service and questionable sustenance. The staff seemed to have fully embraced the "no future" ethos, displaying a level of rudeness that went beyond edgy and landed squarely in unpleasant. Simple requests were met with eye rolls and curt responses, making the already uncomfortable atmosphere even more grating. It's one thing to be anti-establishment, but basic courtesy shouldn't be a casualty. The menu is confusing and will overwhelm the senses of a neuro-typical person. Unfortunately, the food did little to redeem the experience. The claims of "fresh" ingredients felt like a blatant lie. The flavours were muted, the textures were off, and overall, it left a lingering sense of unease rather than satisfaction. Adding insult to injury was the incredibly crowded seating arrangement. Customers were crammed together like sardines, making any attempt at a relaxed coffee impossible. Personal space was a foreign concept, and the constant bumping and jostling out of our seats only amplified the already stressful environment. Tables were screwed to the floor to protect 'The Cure' mural forcing customers to sit next to each other. While the rebellious spirit of punk rock might appeal to some, this cafe seems to have misinterpreted it as an excuse for poor service, substandard food, and a complete disregard for customer comfort. There's a difference between being edgy and being simply bad. Steer clear of this punk rock pretender. There are plenty of other places in Arundel where you can enjoy a decent coffee. This cafe needs a serious attitude adjustment. It's less "God Save the Queen" and more "God Help Anyone Who Eats Here." Rating: 3 out of...
Read moreUpdate: January 2021 I left a constructive feedback review on LG Cafes’ Instagram page and I was immediately blocked by them and all my comments deleted. Very unprofessional behaviour. Blocking and hiding any negative reviews left by loyal customers indicates exactly what type of business this is. Nobody is allowed to leave an opinion unless it’s singing their praises. I was a loyal, long term customer but now I won’t be returning based on this behaviour. If a cake is stale, then it is stale! Don’t delete the comment. Rather go work on why the cake is stale. The owners reply below says : “hate mail that I left” . What? I have never left any hate mail?! Why am I being unfairly accused?!
—————————————————————————- 2020- Lovely little cafe with a mouth-watering, large selection of cakes and sweet treats! Decorated beautifully with lots of flowers and pink everywhere! Love it as a perfect place to host a ladies get together. Staff are always very friendly and helpful and the prices reasonable. My only criticism is that on all 3 occasions that I’ve been there, the cake slices I’ve had (Black Forest, Cheesecake & Carrot Cake) have not always been very fresh and kind of stale, dense and crumbly (still delicious) but nice to be fresher, preferably. Nonetheless, still a place I will...
Read moreI visited here with my friend and 16 month old daughter for lunch today. The waitress was very friendly but the service of what I assume is the owner was like nothing I have ever experienced. Having no childrens menu I asked if I could have just a single pancake with some banana and maple syrup for my child. The waitress came back and said that pancakes only come in stacks of three. I said well can you separate one of my pancakes as I am having nutella and my daughter doesnt like it. I then talked to who I assume are the owners and was told the menu is non-customisable. I brought up the fact that there is no childrens menu and was told that 'children are not in their target demographic' (even though the place looks like the inside of willy wonkers chocolate factory). After much toing and froing they finally agreed to give me the toppings separately from the pancakes so I could do it myself but was advised they would only do it 'just this once' and next time I would have to have exactly on the menu! The whole thing was frankly bizarre and as a local safe to say I shall not be returning, but as I'm not in their demographic I imagine they wont...
