So my husbands off work and we decided for a lunch time treat at our favourite beefeater Eureka park Ashford Kent .we shared the Cauliflower popcorn for starters well enjoyed by us both, chicken and bacon open sandwich I requested no bread on mine but extra salad instead and for the bacon to be cooked extra crispy ! We both thoroughly enjoyed our lunchtime treat was served piping hot and fresh and perfectly cooked ,downed with a lovely ice cold lager shandy, staff and waitress was very welcoming and pleasant 5* experience today before a cinema afternoon . We went to another restaurant (different chain) previously in Ashford for a lunch which is so popular at the moment which was 3x the expense and we both didn't enjoy it half as much as today's treat ! Lovely lunch at a reasonable price friendly helpful staff what more could you want!! UPDATE!!!! unfortunately we brought my granddaughter for a treat last week to cheer her up after she bumped her head in the park injurying her eye ,the food on this occasion was awful the same meal can you believe starters😐 think the popcorn cauliflower was the dregs from the bottom of the bag and it was greasy! The chicken didn't even taste like chicken looked ok from outside but just tasted underdone just yuk bacon they could not cook right we asked for crispy bacon it came out on one plate burnt on the other anaemic actually it did not even look like bacon at all more like a pure fat rasher ,as a result neither of us finished our meal called the manager she accused us of complaining before which as we told her (honestly) we've never done so at this restaurant and why we come back every week hence the original post of 5, they seem to begrudgingly take the price of the main meal off the bill but to be honest we should not have paid a thing the whole meal was revolting to be honest, just to end this we eat here every week without fail for months and months we've done this, we've always been happy which is why the original 5 review and rating our opinion has now dropped to 1* this is not the fault of the Waitresses at all something obviously went wrong for the chef that day but instead of accusing your customers young lady(manager) of complaining you should be encouraging us to come back,to your disadvantage because you've just lost regular weekly customers we will not...
Read moreWe visited Eureka Park on Saturday, and were greeted by the Manager and were served by friendly helpful staff. We were seated on a lovely round table, and our friendly waiter Rory introduced himself and tended to our table. We had really enjoyable starters, followed by steaks for our mains that were cooked to perfection, we all commented on how tender our steaks were. Then sadly our evening was cut short by a very serious incident. My friend started choking, having swallowed a large piece of steak that got lodged in her larynx, she couldn't breathe. We all started to panic and called out for help and members of the public and staff rallied around to assist and called for an ambulance. After quite some time the struggle went on until she collapsed and stopped breathing, then within minutes the paramedics arrived and managed to dislodge the blockage then performed chest compressions, thankfully my friend started to breathe again and was taken to hospital. The point of me putting this in my review is that I wanted to express our sincere thanks to the staff for the way in which they dealt with the situation. Not only were they so quick to get help and be entirely professional in this awful situation, but they were also so kind to myself and my other friend too. Whilst all the panic was going on, we were in shock and grew extremely upset, the staff literally hugged and consoled us and kept us as calm as possible. Thankfully my friend recovered, and I just want to thank everyone in Eureka Leisure Park for their kindness and professionalism, their care and concern was far above any you would expect from a staff member and we are so very grateful. And just to note, this incident was NOT caused by bad food, it was caused by my friend not chewing her food properly for some reason. Thank you so much Eureka staff for caring and helping to take some of the stress out of this awful situation. We recommend this restaurant for food, service and...
Read moreFirstly want to say that our waitress was lovely. However, everything else was not so good. There was quite a lot of waiting staff but not many customers. We only ordered mains and ended up waiting over an hour for our food to come.
My wife ordered medium fillet steak, it came very well done and I am still perplexed how you can make a mushroom look like it is devoid of any liquid without actually looking cooked.
I ordered the short rib pulled beef burger. I think you could almost see a glimpse of patty showing it was so small. This ended up being a godsend as it was overcooked and chewy. The lettuce was limp and covered in black spots.
My 5 year old ordered the chicken curry. Despite being told that they were out and after convincing him to reorder, was told they do have it. This was the only okay meal.
We ordered our 2 year old the tomato penne pasta. The pasta was so over cooked that when picking it up with a fork it just fell apart. The sauce tasted like the cheapest tomato soup, that was then further watered down.
Normally we would have complained and sent it back. But after waiting more then a hour for it to come in the first place we now had limited time. We did mention to the waitress how bad most of our dishes were and she agreed they looked bad.
The kids had ice-cream (nothing wrong here) and we decided not to partake due to our experience so far.
Before leaving the restaurant I had to visit the bathroom to change my little one. I know it is a water closet but this took the biscuit. Dirty wet floors, paper everywhere. I know that this could have just been bad timing due to the previous user, but the overflowing bin made me believe this was not to be the case.
I was then overcharged for the kids meals as they priced it up as individual items and not the 3 course menu.
It's such a shame as previous visits here have normally been...
