I went to the Pheasant on Monday 11th August at about 12.30 looking for a quick lunch, as I was visiting friends in the afternoon and didn’t want to be late. The restaurant area did not look full. I went straight to the bar and asked if I could have a quick sandwich for lunch. The lad behind the bar said yes, and offered me a cheese and pickle sandwich, which I accepted. I did get the impression that the bar staff, whilst not being unfriendly, were not welcoming with a smile and were undertrained, including in the operation of the tills. When my meal arrived, it was NOT what I ordered. Instead, I was given a baguette with some measly chips of cheddar. As I did not want to wait any longer, I accepted it. I was not given a knife and fork, not a serviette which I had to beg from the next table. It was only then that I thought to look at the menu, which clearly showed that I had not been offered a choice of bread, nor was any grated mozzarella in the baguette (which, incidentally, was stale). In other words I had been diddled. However, as stated above, I was in somewhat of a hurry and so I left very disappointed. I shall not patronise your establishment again. It is not what I would expect from a friendly country pub. Colin Arney

We went to this restaurant, and right from the start, the experience was disappointing. Before even saying hello, the server's only concern was to ask us which table we were sitting at. It was impossible to ask any questions, as the only thing that seemed to matter to him was our table number. No hello, no thank you, no please, and not even a goodbye.Outside, I eventually ordered a cheeseburger. I'll let you see the photos, but the cheese and lettuce were simply non-existent. I’ve never eaten a burger as dry as this in my life. To be honest, I didn't even finish it because after just one bite, it felt like eating a burger that had been recooked four or five times. The most regrettable part is that somewhere in the world, there's probably a shoe without a sole that was used to make this burger.

Four adults had lunch here & we booked a table for 2pm. Pub is roomy & family orientated with a small kids play area. Pool table is available at £1.50 a game that takes card payments. It kept rejecting coins . TV on the wall showing horse racing was in the pool table area, as well as a dart board. Outside seating is available and the place was busy but not overcrowded or noisy . Food was fairly reasonable. Pie, chips, peas & gravy was £11.29 each and was cooked nicely. A fair few items were off the menu as no stock available but all 4 of us found something to eat. I think the drinks are expensive. Nearly £14.00 for a pint of Fosters & a white wine spritzer. Staff were helpful & location is ok. Free parking on site but limited, as other shops are at this location. Would probably go back again.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting The Pheasant, and I must commend the exceptional service provided by Niamh, our barmaid for the evening. From the moment we arrived, Niamh’s warm and inviting demeanor set the perfect tone for a wonderful night out.

Niamh’s expertise behind the bar was immediately apparent. Her knowledge of the drink menu was impressive, and she was more than happy to recommend cocktails based on our preferences. Each drink she prepared was crafted with precision and care, showcasing her remarkable skills and passion for her work.

What truly stood out was Niamh’s ability to create a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere. She effortlessly engaged with all the patrons, making everyone feel right at home. Her friendly conversations, coupled with her attentive service, made the evening all the more enjoyable. Despite the busy environment, Niamh managed to attend to everyone promptly and with a genuine smile.

Niamh’s dedication to providing top-notch service was evident in every interaction. She consistently checked in to ensure we were satisfied with our drinks and even offered to make adjustments to suit our tastes. Her attention to detail and commitment to customer satisfaction were truly commendable.

Moreover, Niamh’s professionalism and efficiency were impressive. She handled multiple orders with ease, never missing a beat, and maintained a clean and organized bar area throughout the night. Her ability to stay composed under pressure was remarkable and added to the overall positive experience.

If you find yourself at The Pheasant, I highly recommend seeking out Niamh for her outstanding service. Her exceptional bartending skills, coupled with her warm and personable nature, will undoubtedly enhance your visit. Thank you, Niamh, for making our night at The Pheasant so memorable. We look forward to returning and enjoying your wonderful service again soon!

I hope this revised review perfectly highlights Niamh’s excellent service at...

Absolutely disgusting, service and food today (Christmas day). We walked into the pub and had been stood there for 10 minutes before anyone greeted us, this contradicts what the email says in the "Information from Pheasant Ashford about your booking" section. We were then give our table number (32), when we arrived at our table it wasn't ready, one of the waiteress then came over to finish setting up the table, she also told us that they were getting busy and that many staff had left. The starter was over cooked, the main at definitely been left under the hot light until someone was ready for their main, and unfortunately we were the ones that were given those. The desert was by far the best out of the 3 courses. The lady behind the bar was on her own serving drinks, the bar was full and she was very rude. During our visit no one checked on us to see if the food was ok, and when another waiteress came to clear the plates (plate still containing left food) I told her the food was very poor and also she did was leave the plates and walk away. Our visit to the Pheasant was a waste of money, I'm exhausted that I paid £194.97 for 3 of us and the food and service was such a poor standard, which has infact spoiled our Christmas day dinner. The staff at the Pheasant clearly couldn't cope with...

I booked a table for 5 for my husband's birthday. When we got there the bloke that served us was very vacant, we was told our table number so I let everyone go sit down while I ordered drinks, they came straight back as there was someone already sat at the table, when told that the bloke just went "oh, what drink was it again?" It was only 4 Pepsi's & 1 pint. After we finally got our drinks that we had to repeat about 4 times we sat down. We all decided what we wanted to eat so went & ordered, again was served by the same bloke. I had to say what we wanted 3 times, there was 5 meals! Food came out but they had completely forgotten to cook my son's meal, when we went to the bar, again served by the same bloke & said my son's meal hasn't come out he told us that he forgot it. No apology nothing! So my son ended up having just a bowl of chips which by the time they came out everyone had nearly finished there meal. The food was actually quite nice but the service from the bloke was awful, he was completely away with the fairy's like he was on something. I booked a table here as I had been here once before with my inlaw's for lunch a few months ago & it was lovely so after us saying how nice it was this was where my husband wanted to go but we just found the service very...
