My friend and I went here on Friday for the bottomless brunch, our booking was at 17.30. As soon as we went in we were greeted by some lovely happy waitresses big smile on all their faces which was nice as it made us feel very welcome. Shown to our table which was upstairs. Lovely deco upstairs too. I had the calamari which you could tell was fresh very tasty and came with a dip. My friend had the sliders burgers they looked really good! I tried some and I think next time will order them as they were perfect. Sides were cheesey chips which were out of this world and the cheese balls also amazing. Lots of choice to choose from when it came to the cocktails. The white sangria was really tasty but couldn't pick a favourite as they all tasted good. Huge big shout out to our servers of the evening Reo and Maddie you were amazing thank you for making our night so good. Definitely be returning soon. Thank you.

Visited for bottomless bubbles, basically bottomless brunch without the cocktails but lots of prosecco! Arrived early and sat at our table, the waitresss was good and attentive when it came to drinks but we had to ask to order food and when we did it took an hour for half of it to arrive. After chasing the remainder we got it after 70 minutes so felt very rushed at the end. The food was nice enough but not really worth the long wait. The music was very loud making conversations difficult. Overall, an ok venue but there are better for a similar price point.

Salt House has quickly become my go-to spot, especially for a perfect Sunday dinner! Every visit feels like a treat, thanks to the wonderful food and cocktails that never disappoint. The menu has something for everyone, with dishes that are both comforting and innovative. You can really tell how much care and quality go into every plate. If you’re looking for a place that gets everything right from food and drinks to ambiance, Salt House is the one to try. I’ll definitely be back and can’t recommend it enough. āļøāļøāļøāļøāļø

My partner and I attended with another couple on Valentine’s Day for the evening for some food and drinks.

We didn’t get sat down straight away and was waiting for a short while at the door to be seated. Once seated we had to ask twice for menus to be brought to us and to order a drink. We ended up going to the bar to order drinks where there was only one person making cocktails so there was a very long wait which was disappointing. Upon returning to the table around 45 minutes after we arrived we were able to order our food. The other couples starters came before ours, and they’d finished their starters before ours came out which we had to ask to chase the kitchen for. The mains took about another 45 minutes to come out, one of which was completely wrong but we didn’t want to wait again so just ate it. We had to ask for replacement cutlery, napkins, salt and pepper all due to the lack of quality service provided. We did alert the wait times to the manager and they were very apologetic and offered us free drinks and a bottle of Prosecco. After the mains there was another fairly long wait for dessert, and only 3 came out, not 4! My girlfriend’s dessert never arrived and we queried this with the staff and they didn’t even know what she’d ordered and said they could go and make it now, but by this time everyone else had eaten theirs so she didn’t want to make us wait any longer.

Overall the food itself was quite nice, as was the atmosphere in there with a live band on.

The service however was incredibly poor. We came for NYE in 2022-23 and it was very poor then, so we thought we’d give it another try given it’d been a long time since we’d been. Unfortunately nothing had changed. The place seems to be run by very inexperienced young staff that don’t seem to be able to run it smoothly, and ultimately we suffered that night and ended up doing half their job for them by chasing them for every meal, menu, cutlery etc. They were apologetic and did give us a large discount on our bill but overall the evening was ruined by poor service which isn’t ideal for the occasion. The mobile app also stated cocktails were 2 for Ā£12 but at the bar this was changed to 2 for Ā£15, plus a long wait.

This place seriously needs to invest more in their staff rather than their instagram account as on there it makes itself out to be a very well-kept restaurant but this is far from what I’ve experienced. I cannot imagine there are many repeat customers that will return here if they have a similar...

This was the best place for Barnsley for decent cocktails and it being a beautiful venue. But only after a few months of success it’s going down hill rapidly. The servers are all now around 16/17 with no social skills. We was ignored for ten minutes at the bar with only have three tables in and no one waiting to be served. Someone had to tell the young girls that were chatting behind bar to serve us. Usually the drinks are amazing but today I was served a White Russian covered in coffee beans. Almost like it was to cover something in my drink? I’ve never had this before. We went to sit upstairs whilst waiting 15 minutes for someone to start making the drinks. One of the young girls brought it to the table, spilt a drink and walked off. So the table was covered in cream. The surround empty tables were filthy. One with wine glasses another with tea pots and tea cups that had been there for a while but the look of the table. The bar had bottles of Dr Pepper from the servers in plain view. They were stood talking in a group not acknowledging any customers stood waiting at the bar . The servers now in hoodies and discoloured jeans with pumps. It’s quickly lost is sophistication but not lost it’s prices, felt very much like I was in a weatherspoons. The toilet also had no toilet paper. Seems that they’d rather have children as servers for the minimum wage yet no training for them. After being a returning customer for months I don’t think I will any longer. No service and really poor...

Booked a table for 7 people, service started off pretty good, drinks order taken straight away then it just went down hill from there. After our food order was taken we waited over half hour for the food to start coming out. Patatas bravas came out first then nearly half an hour later after that burnt bread and olives came out. Shortly followed by a duck bao bun which was ok but not worth the price for one dish. Finally after that the pulled pork sliders arrived, tasteless and watery (maybe from the storage container it’s being ā€˜pulled’ from) picked it up to eat and watery juices started pouring out. Finally my friends fries came out pretty much last off, definitely were not skin on fries. I appreciate tapas comes out when it’s ready but the concept of tapas is to nibble away at multiple dishes not to eat one then the other. Need to work on timings of that. We had eaten all the patatas bravas before anything else came out. The night was just a waiting game. Also service during the meal was pretty poor and was easier and quicker to get up and get a drink from the bar rather than try and get someone’s attention to take an order. Won’t be rushing back for food at all. Take a look at The Royal pub and restaurant, the tapas there is amazing and it all comes out together so you can pick at different dishes not wait a lifetime for each one to come out. Rant over, basically poor service...
