I am going pretty often to this pub, and today Saturday 22 Feb. this security guy, older guy, short hair with 1 earing was clearly racial profiling us. It was me, my brother and his gf. He all of a sudden stopped us from going in because he said my brother's gf needs to show ID (she is 33, and it's very obvious ), and other people entering right in front of us with much younger people they never say nothing.

She didn't have ID on her so we complied despite everything, had to go home and take her passport with us, we went back and after we showed him he checked that passport like for 2 minutes and i just said this " ARE YOU HAPPY NOW? "

And that's all it needed for this "man" to get so offended and asked us to leave. He started arguing and keep saying we have to leave because I have an attitude, Me not him, not him that he clearly racial profiling us from the start .

Very disgusting behaviour, and i can't believe i experienced this in UK in 2025 I really liked this pub before, but this security guy is a complete racist, and i am really shocked that the pub sided with him, and i will not let this slide so easily because this can't really happen in UK. I asked what is his name and of course he refused to give it to me.

I will make complaints to citizens advise bureau, ERHC, and Acas, just to make sure others don't experience the rasism of this security guy as well. Will contact the security company he is employed as well and and see if they accepting this kind of behaviour from their staff I am very disappointed about this and will not let this go...

Not a good experience. Weatherspoons was dark, loud and dirty. Staff member was stood by door and requested we do a track and trace for covid on our phones. Tried to explain my grandparents didn't have phones and could only do it on my phone and allowed us to do it eventually. Got a table but werw asked to move as they wouldn't allow my 2 year old nephew to sit on the end/edge of table in high chair and asked us to move him to another table. Was told to order on app but later found people ordering at bar so don't know what was allowed. App was easy enough to use considering my grandparents were unable to see menus which were small in writing and poor lighting. Wasn't very clean. Cleaned table ourselves and the wipe came back black, toilets werent clean and when taking my nan to disabled toilet, a man was using the toilet with the door open. Though staff seemed to be working duirng a lunch shift, my nephews plate was boiling hot while the rest of the plates were warm, had to ask for a cooler plate. For a group of 5, was only give one knife and a few forks and when we asked for more, we didnt hear anything from them. Asked staff if there was a one way system and particular staff member was rude and said if we used our eyes we'd be able to get through. Was asking as my nan was wheelchair bound and needed to know how to get out safely due to covid. Would not go...

I like it good old fashioned pub staff do there best and its good enough no complaints about that. I had a breakfast with cold beans ! I was a bit afraid to complain and send it back! What I'm disgusted about and the reason for 2 stars is the toilets if I use a toilet at 8 in the morning I'm first in... The toilet smelt and not of bleach I was able to remove dust off of the toilet roll holder, there are fresh stains down the outside of the loo and on walls, doors to the toilet and surfaces one thing wherever you go you can normally guarantee is a weather spoons has clean toilets so disgusting I just had toast for breakfast and had to rinse my cup on my 2nd visit ! Seriously bleach hot water a cloth job done and o saw your cleaner leave so you do have cleaners even thou your advertising for more.

This is an update so beans are still cold ! I had to ask for a lecloth to clean the table I don't mind doing it however the attitude was all tut Lt to and when the same girl who gave me a cloth gave me my breakfast she didn't take the cloth backas sarcastic "enjoy" slam with plate. 2 other girls heard and saw me move several empty cups and carried on talking about xmss presents .
