So today was the launch of the Rebel Whopper, so I have come to check out the claims that is as good as the beef whopper.. the staff were all wearing branded tee-shirts, so it looked promising. The burger presentation was wrapped in green to show it's vegetable origins. On unwrapping the Rebel I was impressed that the visuals being sent to my brain told me this looks superficially like any other whopper. The party was slightly lighter in colour, but that aside this is a whopper. I have to say that BK have done it, as a committed carnivore this burger has the thumbs up from me. Yes the patty is different, not as juicy or shiny, but what do you expect? The taste does not stand out like a beef patty, but in combination with the other Whopper ingredients I really couldn't tell this was a plant based patty. Aside from the cost right now, which is the same as the regular whopper, in time I can see companies dropping prices as this meat alternative goes mainstream. Verdict...... Let's all very the Rebel yell and give this a try I'm sure you'll be...
Read moreA bad and rude experience at the store in East gate mall. Ordered my food, paid and asked to do track and trace (which I have no problem with) but after paying and because I didn't get my phone out the girl refused to serve me unless I scanned the app, making me feel quite embarrassed. On their website it 'requests' you do track and trace, in store it says 'must'. The point is at no time was I asked if I had a phone let alone the app. I had forgot my phone this time but was never offered to write down my details I just had flat refusal. I do understand the importance of track and trace because I am an essential worker have worked throughout. But sometimes you need to use a bit of common sense and help where you can. As I said a pen and paper would have sufficed as it does in other establishments. Won't use...
Read moreThere will be 2 aspects to this review, the food and the premises. Food: on the whole, not bad at all, but feel it it more the added extras in a burger that make it taste great rather than the meat itself. You do pay a premium though, and I wouldn't mind so much if the lettuce was fresh, and not brown and wilting at the edges. Also, I know speed is of the essence here, but just one I would like to have a burger that looked like it wasn't put together by my 2 year old! Premises. I know they try their best with social distancing, but really believe they didn't measure the gaps between the tables, as find it hard to navigate a buggy past tables, so must be difficult for a wheelchair. Also, front of house is important. Clean the tables, I makes such a difference. In summary, ok for a chain resteraunt. You get good...
