Munchy Chicken Basildon — Restaurant in Basildon

Absolutely terrible service. We ordered with this company through an online delivery service and received 10% off, which we originally thought was great. The discount is not worth the hassle of trying to track down where the hell your food is. Ordered at 12:30, we were told that our food would be with us at 13:10. At 13:30, I tried to call the company numerous times, which wasn't answered. I then called the delivery company that we ordered through to find out that there was currently no delivery driver and because of this, it would 15 minutes for them to locate one and then another 20-30 minutes for them to remake our food. We then received a text to say that our food would be here at 14:15, nearly 2 hours after we ordered it; so not exactly fast food. When asking for a refund and to forget the food, I was told that I would be charged 50% of the order as they were already making it... what a joke. 50% profit for me to receive nothing. We decided to wait for the order

The food finally arrived on time but of course, it was cold. The chips were soggy, the lettuce soggy and generally not very nice. Their only saving grace was that their hot wings are actually spicy. If they hadn't been cold, they might have been...

I will say the food is nice but I have had a bad experience with an incorrect order and lack of help following this was shocking! I ordered through just eat, My order was completely incorrect meaning I paid for 2 meals that I did not receive. I followed protocol as advised by just eat customer service and I sent good quality photos of the food delivered still in original packaging and I sent this immediately upon request . I was then asked for a picture of the receipt, as I didn’t not receive a hard copy from the delivery driver I sent over a copy of my in app receipt. After 30 hours I was emailed saying I was not cooperating as I didn’t send any photos?? and they were closing the case?? I am so frustrated.. I paid £17 for 2 meals and received less than £5 worth of food; and the customer service person hasn’t even looked into this properly. i think munchies is so under-rated !!!, As i entered the shop i noticed just how clean the place is ,,It is in a prime location in the bus station, when i walk past i always see people ordering or sitting down (they have opened during lockdown via a one in one out policy, so the above doesn't apply at the moment. I ordered three piece 3 hot wings and chips, it was value for money at less than a fiver !!!!. the chicken was how i like it (i only go into chicken shops when its not manic times like lunch). The chicken was fantastic , i was saddened that the skin was not crispy, but that did not matter as the chicken was full of flavor, The chips were fine and i could tell they were fried in clean oil. I would highly recommend this place. But i would not advice eating there when it first opens. oh and the hot wings were the highlight of the meal, top class for a chicken shop with tons of spice. At first i thought "meh",,,,but the hot wings are a creeper !!!....
