food had never been wonderful from there, but bust of the bunch in Billericay. Desperate for a curry last night 13th May 15, too lazy to hope over to my Favourite place in Brentwood, I opted for a takeaway Biryani from The Ruchi. I have photos to prove, that the lamb and some of the chicken in the meal was seriously burnt until it turned totally black and yet the rice and other vegetables were still added to the pan with the result of the whole meal being speckled with black spots, those being from the burnt residual in the frying pan. after about 6 mouthfuls I stopped thinking those black dots were something new worth trying, then I sorted the meat out and was totally disgusted with what I had found. having spoken to the duty manager he offered to recook another meal, by which time I could not face anything more from them, and or give me a full refund, I told him I wanted nothing from him but fully expect him to address such disgraceful conduct by the chef concerned. My guess was that he was losing business as many people would not bother returning to them and most likely just quietly binned the meal and left it at that As if the restaurants struggle enough without employing uninterested chefs with such a "don't...
Read moreI visited this restaurant last weekend with friends. Having eaten some really delicious curries in Indian restaurants both in the UKand also abroad, I felt this Restaurant gave Indian food a bad name. The head waiter was grumpy and unwelcoming and didn't appear to want to be serving, however the two younger waiters were more cheerful and made up for his lack of friendliness. The beer was good however I became concerned when the dips to go with the pompadoms arrived looking as if lthey had just been poured out of large bought in jars of sauce from the local cash and carry, and from there on the meal deteriorated. The chicken 'curry' I ordered came in a bowl of thick sweet sickly pink non descript flavoured sauce, very similar looking to everyone else's at the table who had ordered differrent curries, once again 'out of a jar' from the local C&C sprang to mind. The coconut rice was fine but the order of fried rice was very oily. We did not bother to wait to find out what horror desert would be. I was saddened the next morning when our friends who had taken us to this restaurant apologised for such a bad meal explaining they had not been there before and the restaurant they had intended to take us to had been...
Read moreAverage experience and mixed impressions about the food, overall we are not impressed.
The saag paneer didn’t have fresh spinach. I would have preferred cubes of paneer rather than melting and pulling cheese. The butter was rich with a good thick sauce, but the meat was shredded so it was difficult to catch the pieces with the chapati. The chicken tikka had an astonishing ruby colour, and the sauce was too sweet. The garlic rice was amazing.
The service was inconsistent. The dishes came quickly but we waited too long for the bill or to catch the attention of waiters who rather focused on welcoming new clients and preparing the tables. I think the service was inefficient as 4 people were working and the restaurant was busy, not full.
Lots of people came in with a booking so I would recommend reserving a table for...
