I had an extremely disappointing experience at this Costa and will not be returning. I visited with my partner to relax after some Christmas shopping, intending to enjoy a latte and hot chocolate. Unfortunately, the experience fell far short of expectations.
First, the state of the toilet was appalling, dirty and without toilet paper, which was unacceptable. After information the staff about this I was informed āwe know.ā
When our order was ready, the presentation of the hot chocolate was poor, with the cup barely half full and cream overflowing messily. I politely requested a replacement, but the second attempt was no better: again, half a cup of hot chocolate with an excessive amount of cream.
To make matters worse, the staff member who made the previous one, brought it over placed it on the table with an unprofessional attitude, saying, āIs that better for you?ā before walking away.
This lack of cleanliness, quality, and customer service was deeply disappointing.
I will definitely not be returning to...

However, within the last 9 months, every time I have tried to use this store it has been closed. When I tried to use it a couple of weeks ago it was completely empty and 8:30 in the morning. I also stood outside this morning for 10 minutes waiting for it to open at 7:00 (an hour later than the door sign and the website) with a member of staff just wandering around inside not doing much. Not only do all these customer issues get my back up but I also applied to work here last September. I attended my interview, was offered the job and for over a month was messed about over start date and told to re-apply. The "assistant manager", who appeared to be in charge of hiring me, was also emailing me about my appointment as a barista via her personal email.
All in all this store has very rapidly become by far the worst Costa Coffee...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIt used to be one of my fave places to go but the past couple of times Iāve been in there Iāve had some problems. The recent refurb is nice, but they have lost the seats that used to be stools looking out the window for a fridge.
As its conveniently near the train station, they havenāt been opening as early as they used to- nor sure if itās change of management but I used to get a drink before getting the train. Now itās unclear when they will open- whether itās staff issues or problems with the tills.
The latest problem I had was that I wanted to use one of my free drinks. I scanned my loyalty app and was told bluntly that it wasnāt coming up. I asked to try again and it didnāt work so I had to pay. The staff member wasnāt apologetic about not being able to use something Iāve earned due to their till problems, as the tone of voice came across like Iām causing an inconvenience by wanted to redeem...
