Kokoro Basingstoke — Restaurant in Basingstoke and Deane

Came here with my son who was raving about the food. Went to order a vegetable gyoza udon to be told they don't serve that, despite being on the menu. Asked which vegetarian food they do have to be given two options. One of which was noodles that was hanging off its section and going and mixing into the chicken in front. When I pointed this out the lady wasn't happy. When she was dishing up my sons spicey beef the sauce and juices was going where into other sections too. Declined all food for myself. Great place to eat for thoses who aren't fussed about cross contamination. Son was happy though. So depends what you're after...

Ordered as a little night time snack, they sent us free sushi (I assume because it was the end of the day) which was nice, but after looking closer at our chicken, the katsu just looked odd and the sweet and sour looked raw and smelt funky, we threw it all in the bin. I have had kokoro a few times and the food is always lovely. However the service is not so great. This last time that I visited, I stood at the till waiting to order, for a good 10 minutes, being completely ignored by all of the staff. They just looked at me and continued chatting amongst them selves and one even glanced up from playing on their phone and then carried on scrolling their phone. After this I didn't even order and just walked out. I was literally the only customer in there...
