Had an amazing meal here! Rang to book a table about 90 minutes before we wanted to eat, they said they were full but could squeeze us in. Table we were given was in a corner which appeared to be a walk through, lots of people walking past, it was also very high up. The meal itself was lovely! Portions are plentiful. Staff were very helpful, pleasant and polite. We asked if we could go have a drink outside between main course and dessert and then ordered dessert outside (wasn't as busy by this time). The waitress we had dealt with made a point of coming to tell us that they stop serving food at 9pm so if we wanted dessert we had to order it now. I had chocolate cheesecake (after asking which cheesecake was available waitress didn't inform me it had nuts in the salted caramel sauce) my partner had key lime pie. Both were again lovely (apart from the nuts). When we received our bill for deserts and drinks there were 2 drinks on it we hadn't ordered. Staff quickly sorted this, apologised and refunded us no problem. We are not local to the area and asked for a telephone number to order a taxi. We were given 3 numbers and on 2nd attempt booked one. Very impressed all in all and would highly recommend. If ever we are in the area again we will definitely go back.

Visiting local pub after school sports day; TERRIBLE SERVICE - probably worst have had ever; placed order for food at 4.38pm, food came to table at 5.25pm. There were 3 of us (1 child) and only another 2 tables in the whole place. The strawberry haired manager and a short blonde girl with glasses were more interested in their conversation behind the bar then service, the food came and not going to lie was decent although could tell had been sat under the hot plate for a good while as the lettuce on my mac and cheese was cooked... A brioche roll came with the mixed chilli and was inedible - raised with the short blonde girl who said that this was normal - requested another slice and was handed a cold slab of crust. When you're paying £80 for just 3 main meals and drinks I'd have expected much better service. I recommend skip the place as has really gone down hill...

I can happily say that this was veritably a place that I would love to be closer to home. I would happily go out of my way on a journey just to eat here. We were attended to by Lu (Lucy) who helped us with our table and baby placement. They were busy with a large party at the time and were courteously notified by her that times would be a bit longer. I am to say that if the times were longer then I would have been blown away by their normal times. The food came and our eyes popped! The food! Oh the food! It was delicious, scrumptious, delectable, out-diddly-standing! Both the starters and the mains were amazing and generously portioned! I would definitely recommend this establishment for food and drink and parties or just chilling!

We had high hopes for the Millhouse Pub in Worksop, having booked a table for 7 adults and a baby for my dads birthday. Unfortunately, what started as a pleasant meal quickly went downhill.

Six of us received lovely meals, but my sister was served raw chicken. Yes, raw chicken!! She immediately sent it back, only for it to be returned a measly five minutes later – clearly the same piece, but this time just slightly more cooked. It was beyond disgusting that they thought this was acceptable. Naturally, my sister barely touched it after that. When she cut into it again, she found a vein running through the chicken. This would put anyone off their meal, knowing the risks of raw chicken, and she was understandably revolted.

To make matters worse, a different server briefly came to check on our table, but only bothered to wait for myself to acknowledge ) I said my meal was fine, but she walked off without even acknowledging anyone else; including my sister, who was still sitting there with her barely-touched, revolting dish. When our plates were cleared, we told the server that all of our food had been great except the chicken, which had been an absolute disaster. And yet, no apology, no acknowledgment – nothing. Just the typical “Do you want dessert?” as if my sister hadn’t just been served something that could have made her seriously ill. Unsurprisingly, we declined.

Then, the real insult came when I went to pay. The raw chicken meal was still on the bill! I politely mentioned this to the lady at the bar, but she rudely dismissed me, claiming she had checked on us earlier and no one had said anything. Seriously? I corrected her, reminding her that I had spoken up, but she hadn’t even given anyone else the chance before walking away. She rudely brushed it off and went to get the manager.

I wish I could say the manager was any better, but he was even worse. He had the audacity to say he had taken a photo of the chicken, claiming that aside from a red vein, it was fine. What an absolute joke. He then went on to blame the lighting in the restaurant for making the chicken look raw! How ridiculous can you get? When I pressed him further, he admitted the photo wasn’t even from the first time it had been sent back as he wasn’t even aware of this. The server who took the dish originally confirmed it was sent back raw, but even after all that, he had the nerve to suggest we were making it up and it was the lighting…

Finally, after all the unnecessary back and forth, the manager brought us an amended bill. But instead of removing the entire meal – as any decent establishment would do after serving raw chicken – he only removed the charge for the chicken itself, leaving us to pay for the chips and vegetables. I have never, in all my years of dining out, experienced such horrendous treatment after being served a dangerous dish. No apology, no accountability, and instead, they acted like we were the problem.

This place is a disgrace. The food (other than the raw chicken) was lovely; however the customer service and management are absolutely atrocious. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone until they get a serious overhaul in how they treat their customers. Avoid this place...

Not a good experience, for a start there were heaps of stuff not available as they were having problems with supply. ..their description of a flat mushroom is very misleading. ..it was just a very small ordinary mushroom which looked somewhat pathetic. .you couldn't upgrade your steak when you ordered the surf and turf. ..something that I have done in the past without any problems. ..I was informed by the young man behind the bar that the only way I could achieve this would be to order a small plate scampi at £3.75. ..ish. .and order my steak separately which I did. .So when I ordered my steak I asked if I could have salad instead of chips. peas. ..No problem. ..so I was expecting 2 plates of food. ..NO. ..they brought me the steak on a hot skillet with a small bowl of dull limp salad. ..and placed 6 pieces of scampi on. ..I promptly pointed out that I had paid for a small scampi. .chips and peas and that is what I expected. .the young lad behind the bar said he would talk to the kitchen staff and never returned until I had all but finished my meal. .My friend then mentioned it to the young lad who denied I'd ever mentioned it to him. ..I didn't pursue the matter any further as we were scheduled to attend a meeting shortly and didn't want to be late or stressed out. ..I just nipped to the loo before heading off. ..They were disgusting. ..looked like they hadn't had a good clean in a very long time. .there was a sign saying that they were checked regularly. .that was filthy as well. ..So anyone considering going here. .think twice. ..because if an establishment thinks that level of cleanliness is acceptable where the general public will obviously see it. ..I can only imagine what sort of state the private areas are like. .I will never step foot in the...

I'm posting this review at 21:08 having just walked back from The Millhouse to the Travelodge (where I am regular guest).

I turned up at the pub at 20:55 hoping to get a nice meal after a hard day's work. No one was at the bar until finally a lady who was bringing out some food for another person shouted the barman to alert him to my presence. He was far too busy up the stairs talking to someone to pay me any attention

The time was now 21:02. Before I could place my order, I was told the kitchen was closed. No ifs, no buts.

First of all, what pub stops serving food at 21:00 especially in close proximity to a hotel? Second of all at 2 minutes past 9 having had to wait 7 minutes to get served there was no flexibility and no apology. As it's too late to go elsewhere now, I am unable to have an evening meal unless I consider the overpriced vending machine crisps to be option!

Having eaten here many times before, I will say that the food isn't bad, but the service is consistently terrible! Staff are more interested in talking to each other than serving their customers. I'm sure this doesn't apply to all, but I can only generalise based on my overall perception without knowing their names.

For the remaining 6 months of my contract in this area I would rather pay for a taxi elsewhere than give my hard earned money to this establishment. By my calculations, you have just lost out on about £2.5k worth of business. Well done.

I notice that sometimes you actually take the time and trouble to respond to negative reviews which I respect, but the bottom line is, your staff are letting you down and it appears that I am not the only one...
