We expected a bit more from our meal. While the food was nice, we weren't thrilled. We booked based on the menu we saw online, but unfortunately, the dishes didn’t match what was advertised, and the prices had all increased. It’s disappointing because if we had known the actual menu, we would have chosen a different restaurant.

The portion sizes have significantly decreased. We ordered the chicken supreme, which was decent, but the cauliflower sauce was a bit watery and didn’t complement the dish well. The much-touted butternut squash gnocchi? There were only three, and calling them gnocchi is generous—they bore little resemblance to the real thing. The plate also included just three pieces of carrot and a slice of zucchini, which left us quite shocked.

For dessert, we tried the cheesecake tiramisu, but it was a letdown. The coffee on the ladyfingers was overly bitter and overwhelmed the other flavors. Given that we left still hungry, the bill felt excessive for what we received. Overall, it...

I had the smoked duck salad for a starter and the monkfish tail for my main.

My starter was ok, only a small amount of duck but salad was fresh and tasted good. It was pretty average overall. The duck was a bit chewy and not smokey at all but it was still ok.

My main however was a huge disappointment. The monkfish was extremely hot and chewy, the potatoes were far from anything special and they sat in a pool of watery pea puree and melted butter. It all lacked salt and flavour in general.

The food here is expensive, which is fine provided it's seasoned and cooked properly. Mine and my partners meal was just a huge disappointment.

The beer I had was very nice.

Overall we were surprised by the experience as this restaurant hits all our usual criteria for a good restaurant: Seasonal menu Small menu Good reviews (???)

But what we experienced was: Over-priced Poorly seasoned Over-cooked (possibly microwaved) Pretentious presentation

I wouldn't...

Absolute disappointment, and I do not understand the lack of negative reviews here, for a restaurant open this long it seems odd…

Service was fine.

Starter - I had the seafood chowder, the portion was large so no Maria down there, however it lacked any depth of flavour and disappointingly no smoked fish flavour. However, the major issue is this has obviously been with Chef Mike, the chowder boiled your tongue off for several minutes, as I write this my tastebuds are still burnt after leaving it to cool for several minutes.

Main - I had the braised Lamb, this presentation of this dish was abysmal. It looked like a can of dry cat food has been placed on my plate. The reason for this I assume, is that the lamb has been braised for so long it has lost any depth of flavour, the dish was just bland and disappointing.

I normally eat in London and the prices here were relatively comparable, but the quality was not.

If you want to go for drinks, yes. A...

Was so excited to come here on my trip to Belfast and it did not disappoint. Great vegetarian options, I had one of the specials, the peanut butter and chickpea fritter with quinoa which was seriously one of the most delicious things I’ve ever eaten. My husband got the burger which he also loved. We split the fried cheese at the start, which was perfect and gooey with great sauce compliments to add a hit of flavor. The cocktails were delightful, I got the Mollys Garden which was a gin and elderflower drink. It was light and crisp, perfect for dinner. Everything was reasonably priced, service was friendly, quick and we loved every second of our dinner here. We also went for the dessert which almost every table got (which no surprise it was great), the raspberry crumble with vegan raspberry sherbet which was the perfect cap on our meal, tart, not too sweet, and so so tasty. We sat inside but there’s also a lovely area outdoors to dine at if you’d like!

Molly's Yard is a wee restaurant that id off the beaten path in the student area of Belfast (Botanic). You may not notice it as you walk by but it is a lovely spot to go to. The restaurant is medium size, has a downstairs, upstairs and outdoor seating that is fully covered. It had a lovely vibe and you can see the kitchen which is a plus. The food was fantastic - I had a lovely Gnocci but was made differently to what I have had before. They serve local beers as well as the standards. Service was good, staff were lovely and friendly. Pros: - clean, lovely atmosphere - speedy service, lovely food - friendly staff and welcoming - excellent prices for quality of food Cons: - limited seating so book in advance - not overly wheelchair accessible - warm downstairs in Summer but windows are there Overall, this is a lovely spot to attend with friends, family or a first date. Would definitely recommend it.

The service at the restaurant was great, but food-wise we didn't have equally good dishes. My order, which was a specialty of Colby fish with salmon cake was tasty (although it missed a bit more sides), but the other order, the burger of the house, didn't match the expectations - buns were stale (at least a day old), and the taste wasn't so good. We also ordered diet Coke which was stale as well (as if it was poured from an old tape), but the waitress didn't charge it at all and we appreciated it as a gesture of professionalism. All in all, we believe the place has potential, but doesn't match up to the expectations we had about it once we entered.
