From the moment we walked in, we were made to feel very welcome. We were asked if we wanted help with the menu, but it was in English, so pretty easy to understand. The menu is also online with some example pictures, which was good to visualise the dishes. After a tough debate, we opted for the beef kare kare. Honestly, this dish was amazing. So wholesome, like a home away from home. Beef was super tender, the rice so fragrant, and the added touch of vegetables made the dish complete. I had a glass of iced tea and it was home made!! You could taste the freshness. Not the rubbish stuff you buy in the shops. Another debate was what to have for dessert. We went for the Turon with Ube ice cream. The Turon was good to try, nice banana inside but the caramel drizzle on top was not for me. The star was the ice cream. Initially, we decided on the Ube ice cream, as that was recommended by the waitress as most popular. It really was yummy. Little pieces of jackfruit through it and it was so smooth and creamy. We had major fomo, so also had to order the pandan ice cream! This too was so nice! Nice amounts of large pieces of soft coconut through it. Honestly, we couldn’t decide which one was nicer! Both superb and great to have the whole meal so authentic. It’s not often you come across authentic desserts as well as main food, so was super pleased to see a selection available. We accidentally stayed 30 mins past closing time but never were we made to feel rushed to leave. The staff were very accommodating and super friendly. We will definitely be back. I’d love to try the whole menu because our experience left us wanting to try more (not because we were hungry - portion size was amazing, we had one dish between 2 of us and we were full). Only open 3 months. What a gem! Thank you for a...
Read moreA hidden gem on Lisburn Road! We visited the Taste of Manila while driving down Lisburn Road, and we're so glad we did. If you love discovering new cuisines or miss the flavors of the Philippines, this place is an absolute must-try. We visited around lunchtime (they’re open from 12 to 9), and the smell alone was enough to draw us in. The staff were super friendly and welcoming — they even took the time to talk with us. We ended up trying the Family bundle (good for 6-8) and added a Sizzling pork sisig which are all incredible. The foods were perfectly seasoned — rich, tangy, and tender — and the pancit with bagnet had that comforting, home-cooked vibe. Portions were generous, and the prices were fair for the quality. They also gave us the best leche flan I ever had. What really stood out was how authentic everything tasted. It honestly felt like a taste of the Philippines, right here in Belfast. We will definitely be back to try the other menu next time! If you’re curious about Filipino food or just want something different and delicious, give this place a go. It’s a small spot, but full of heart — and...

Taste of Manila truly did not disappoint. Finally, authentic Filipino flavours here in the UK! My family and I went for lunch on Thursday, and everything from the service to the food was amazing. We were served by a lovely girl named Grace—so accommodating. The service was fast, and the food came out right away. As someone sensitive to MSG, I was impressed—no trace of it at all. We were a group of 7, and it felt like a buffet with how much we ordered. Every single dish was delicious! As a vegan, I was so happy to find not just one, but three tofu-based Filipino dishes—and they were all amazing. It’s been 3 years since I went vegan, and I never thought I’d enjoy Filipino cuisine like this again. I left feeling so happy and full!
Highly recommend Taste of Manila if you’re looking for authentic, delicious Filipino food with great service and reasonable price. I’m already planning to come back soon with friends from Manchester!
