The Chelsea — Restaurant in Belfast

I took my mother and daughter to the mothers day special which was a 2 course meal with entertainment with Brian McVeigh. I had booked this weeks before and paid in full at time of booking and had commented about looking forward to the entertainment. When I arrived for my meal we were put at a table downstairs which I thought was great as it would be a good view of the entertainment who I was told started at 3pm. At 3.20pm I ask where was the singer? I was told he's upstairs singing I was raging I said we booked for the special and why were we not seated upstairs. I was told by the manager that he would check if there was a table upstairs it took him 20minutes to check and he returned to say there was but he wasn't very pleasant ,he told me he always sings upstairs at function, so why were we downstairs? we went upstairs and we're put at a table in the corner behind the singer behind a bush were we couldn't see anything when there was other free tables. I can't complain about the waiter staff as they were all lovely and the entertainment was great but I was very dissatisfied with our treatment .it was commented to us did you get the cheap seats. I sauntered into this establishment with my family friend and we’re greeted to a warm buzz of people and modern decor.

I ordered the chefs special “chipotle” scampi as a starter. Although the word chipotle implies a spicy taste this dish was not at all, in fact the inverse as it was drenched in dressing.

The family friend ordered Seafood Chowder. The portion size was generous but lacked flavour. She would have preferred more depth to the dish.

Fantastic service & staff! We booked our wedding after-party in the upstairs event space of The Chelsea.

We visited the venue a few weeks before to finalise some details and look into options for music etc. From start to finish, Dearbhla & team were brilliant and advised us on all the details for the evening. Dearbhla made us feel at ease and ensured everything was taken care of; this was especially appreciated since we were planning our wedding abroad before the after-party.
