Albela Tandoori — Restaurant in Birmingham

I've visited this restaurant on numerous occasions over the last few years and I can honestly say even though I always have the same dish - Lamb Balti with either Roti or Naan I have always thoroughly enjoyed my meal, not only do u get a good sized portion which I can never finish and always get them 2 put in a take away container the meat is always well cooked plus u get plenty of meat along with the Balti sauce unlike some restaurants where u get hardly any meat and just pure sauce. I would highly recommend trying this place out plus the staff are very welcoming and very polite. I would suggest if u want a drink u take ur own as they don't sell alcohol. If u like a good Balti then give them a try u won't regret it. Take it from some1 who knows good food wen...

This would normally be a 5 star rating ... my mother in law has been commong to this place for over 30 years (previous establishment included) and I 11 years.(We even moved to Wolverhampton and still go to this restaurant)..we attended on the 12th June for a birthday meal I dont know if there has been a new chef or just a bad day but this was our first bad meal...the shish kebabs and the chicken pakora were far too spicy and I couldn't finish mine, Mils curry had peppers in it where it normally doesn't, nothing was said about the addition so she never ate it, the chicken tikka main was also to spicy. Despite these issues we still had to pay full price - not that I expected a discount but the offer of woukd have been nice as so much food...

The food was exceptional. Spices were cooked out well and the food was full of taste. I had the vindaloo (chicken) and it's one of the best I've had in a very very long time. The chef's special sigdi was full of flavour and bursting with contrast with each mouthful from a little sweet at first taste, but then to a little spicy. The starter chapati roll was so tasty and there was plenty of chicken in everything. Can't wait to order again. Fantastic food done well and in this cost of living crisis, extremely well price with exceptional service. A true delight to...
