Antalya Shawarma — Restaurant in Birmingham

Ordered on Uber eats yesterday & I will add before I go into detail I am Turkish myself .

The portions were quite small & should’ve been bigger but that wasn’t my issue .. I was really disappointed to have ordered “Adana” & received this. The taste just tasted like normal meat on a skewer nothing Turkish about it & was overcooked/burnt not juicy as we make it . The seasonings were off & definitely not the same , we use pul biber, tatli biber salçası and so on & I think it’s quite bad to not only name the restaurant “Antalya” but also name this dish “Adana” when I promise you it isn’t.

We also ordered chicken shish which was actually really tasty , cooked nicely , good seasoning. The salad was also nice & similar taste to how we would make it. The bread was soft & fluffy on the outer part but inner part was thin & hard.

Overall it wasn’t so bad but I just think if you add a dish to your menu it should be somewhat similar to what you are trying to replicate . Also I would advise that where the food is being cooked it needs to have a lower flame as it’s burning the menu items . I will order again for the chicken shish but please work on replicating the Adana as it’s very disappointing.

Also the delivery boxes should be same portion as you would be served indoors on a plate , I feel the value for money wasn’t worth it the rice portion wasn’t filling but was still tasty . The onions , tomato’s etc come cooked as we would cook them but as you can see on the one side they are burnt , this is due to the flame it’s being cooked on being too high . I have been eating from this restaurant for quite a while now and thought it was about time I left a glowing review for this great little eatary.

My go to order here is the lamb shwarna wrap, which never fails to get those taste buds in party mode!. The lamb is expertly sliced off the spit, just watching this alone let's you know that you are in for a treat. The lamb is then placed onto a very well cooked naan bread. The naan is thin, crispy and very light. You are then asked for a selection of salad which is a traditional Turkish salad with cabbage houmous etc.

The lamb itself is exquisite, nice lamb fatty taste without being too greasy. The lamb is not spiced, just very well seasoned. If you want a lamb shwarna in Birmingham, this is the place to go... Other items which I found of a high standard was the chichen shawarma. Adana kebabs and chicken wings. Oh and the fries are very good here, light crispy and perfectly cooked.
