So me and my family come in and some one decided to kick us out she has short shaved hair and was very rude taking photos of us I tried to get image as I don’t know her name she was a rude member of staff and I don’t appreciate it what so ever … my sister knocked over a board and said she was too drunk even tho she was not and I’m sorry but if I can write this now it will go to show you that I am not drunk (my sister went to reach out to pay bill and knocked over the board this is the most pathetic thing in the world and I would love some one to call me back regarding this case many thanks ell)

Situated at the heart of Harborne, The Harborne Stores is very much a locals pub, where everyone knows everyone. One of the most giving pubs in the area and General Manager, Charlene is a lovey bar lady and she has very good customer service and really polite and friendly and always smiling and and always please to welcoming you and the rest of the staff are fantastic and just really lovely and friendly and it is a lovey place to go and I would highly recommend anyone who's looking for a good laugh to come down to the hubborn stores 100% recommended ♥️

RUDE AND RACIST MANAGER, DO NOT GO HERE Appalled by the attitude and behaviour towards me and my friends by the manager tonight. Me and my friends (who are all in our 20’s) went in this bar tonight, proceeded to buy a bottle of wine and a coke. After the purchase, we sat down, and the manager followed us and asked for ID, which we happily provided. After 2 of us showed our ID, which she claimed was fine and valid, she refused to oversee the thirds ID and told us we had to leave. Confused, We asked to be refunded, and she did not allow this. We were very confused at this point but agreed to leave however upon leaving, the manager started to argue with us. At this point she started threatening us to ‘ban us from all the bars in harborne and selly oak’, told us to ‘not give me attitude’ because we simply smiled and said we were confused, started saying irrelevant information such as ‘you’re half my age sweetheart’ in a very passive aggressive, patronising and sarcastic manner. She proceeded to tell us it was the law to ID us, which we all agreed, with us being hospitality workers also, but it’s also the law to ID us before serving us alcohol. The manager clearly seems to be going through something, or not at all knowledgable about the law or the place she owns. But this is absolutely disgusting behaviour. After leaving and being treated this horribly, she even refused to give us her name for this review and after we left, she SLAMMED the door in my face. No doubt she will probably delete this review, but I pity every single customer and person who works for her. If you want good reputation, and a successful bar/pub, this is definetly not the way to go about it. I have also read further reviews about racism in this place after my experience here, but the third ID who she refused to even look at happened to be asian. To the manager, i’m sure you’re reading this as you pridefully said you’re the one who ‘reads every review’ (although embarrassingly wouldn’t give us you’re name) please get a grip and LEARN THE LAW. Karma is coming. I’m surprised how this place...

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!! If I could post 0 stars I would. Entered this pub as 2 21year olds and 1 25 year old. Checked the 2 English 21 year olds ID with no problem but when it came to check the Asian 25year olds ID the manager did not even bother to look at it, just preceded to kick us all out after buying a new full bottle of wine. (The 25 year old bought a coke) the woman manager was extremely rude. She watched us buy our drinks before going outside, to then go outside and kick us out without giving us a refund. definitely planned after seeing us walk past. The whole experience from walking in to leaving was hostile. Wouldn’t recommend entering this pub if it was the only pub left in England. The manager here is clearly the problem who by the way wouldn’t even tell us her name as we wanted to make a formal complaint after experiencing such disgusting service. Oh and by the way we left on our own terms but she followed and slammed the door extremely hard in our friends face. Extremely rude and could have...

If you are afte a traditional pub in the heart of Harborne then this is the place. There are no 'heirs or graces' here and you may well appreciate it. This is an old school honest public house. It has the modern amenities but you will simply come here for a pint and feel the community spirit. The value for money here is crazy so if you are on a budget you need look no further.

Update 27th April 2025: Not a good visit at all today. Had a Guinness. Everyone else was served first when it was clear mt turn was overlooked. Asked if the match volume coul dbe turned on but told no , yet when others asked it was put on immiditaly. And then to top it all off, when I got halfway down the Guinness I discovered the glass had a huge filthy mark on the inside. Hadn't been cleaned when filled. Made me feel physically sick and I left it and the pub and probably wont ever return. Downgraded accordingly. I feel queezy even now thinking about it. Basic...
