A Double Birthday Bash to Remember at Kanchan's Kitchen!
Yesterday ee celebrated two very special birthdays – my father's and my son's – at Kanchan's Kitchen, and it was an absolutely fantastic evening from start to finish.
From the moment we walked in, the service was top-notch, attentive without being intrusive, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable dining experience for our family.
The food, simply put, was exceptional. We started with perfectly crisp popadoms and a delicious mix grill, which set the tone for the meal ahead. For our main courses, we indulged in the rich and flavorful KK speciality lamb curry, the classic and creamy butter chicken, and the exquisitely prepared Amritsari fish. Every dish was bursting with authentic flavors and cooked to perfection, showcasing the true culinary talent of Kanchan's Kitchen.
To top off an already perfect night, the restaurant generously surprised us with two complimentary birthday cakes for the birthday boys! This thoughtful gesture truly completed our celebration and added a wonderful personal touch.
Kanchan's Kitchen delivered an unforgettable evening of fantastic food, impeccable service, and a warm, celebratory atmosphere. We can't recommend it highly enough for any occasion,...
Read moreMy friends and I have been coming here about once every 2 months for the better part of 10 years - have followed them from the original Poplar Road location, to Acocks Green and now here. We were a little surprised recently when going for a meal to see that the management has changed without notice. The new team are lovely and welcoming, and were very attentive to us. The menu is the same, but the recipes are clearly different. The food is still good, but as a regular for years and years it is hard not to miss the old recipes! One of the team members sat down with us whilst we were eating and asked if the meal could be improved in any way. Whilst I appreciate this was well-meaning, it was slightly distracting from our meal and we didn't know how to answer on the spot like that! We do understand that when new management come into a business they want to do their absolute best to make sure the customer has a good experience, but this was perhaps a little intense!
We will be coming back -...
Read moreA small, smart restaurant with a very warm welcome by the recent, new owner. Quite quiet on the Monday evening we visited, but plenty of delivery drivers in to collect food. The new owner has admirable visions of providing authentic, real Indian cuisine rather than the regular, Birmingham versions of the food from the sub-continent. Vegetarians are well catered for here, with many interesting non meat offerings. We are meat eaters, so on this occasion chose 2 unusual main courses, one chicken Narial and a Desi Matka Salam, both of which were quite different and both delicious. We accompanied these dishes with an excellent, tandoor baked naan. Watch out for a renaming of the restaurant, soon. And also for some menu changes as the new owner introduces his authentic ideas. Keep an eye on this one, it has the potential to be a fascinating addition to the local eating scene. It is already good and is destined to get even better. Nigel, retired,...
