The good things about this place is the atmosphere, the decor, the size of the burgers and the friendly waiter staff. However that’s where I will stop with the positives. I’d like to give 1.5 stars if I could.
Food- I ordered the dexter Sirloin. I thought it was very overpriced. The steak tasted just as described with other reviews. Bland and overcooked. The portion of chips was also incredibly small for this dish especially. You’re better off ordering the standard Sirloin, but that’s not much better either. It is also bland and chewy. I have been to Kobe’s on 3 occasions in both Leicester and Birmingham and the steak has been disappointing. It has always lacked seasoning and it has tasted dry and overcooked. In terms of flavour, price and decent portion size, you’re far better off going to Toro’s which I feel is far better. Overall the menu items are very overpriced and is very hyped up, especially for the steak which I expected better from a steak house.
Staff- Overall service was okay and the waiter’s manner was friendly. However the manager is extremely blunt and rude for the following reason: I dined with my family of 7 during the eat out to help out scheme. I was overcharged when my bill came, as it should be 50% off and the manager did not seem to care and dismissed the issue by stating he is following ‘government guidelines’ which is not apparent at all. I further disputed the matter over the phone to which I was promised a call back to resolve the overpriced bill, but this phone call was not received by the manager. I will dispute this with HMRC as I am not the only customer that has suffered being overcharged by a large amount, especially during this eat out to help out scheme. The manager’s manner was rude, blunt and he clearly knows he has overcharged so many people. He will get what he deserves and I am optimistic that Kobe sizzler’s will be put out of business very soon as I expected better from a halal restaurant. It is apparent that haram profits will slip through the owner’s fingers extremely fast. Therefore I am comfortable knowing that he will get what he deserves. A professional manager that cares about customer service and customer loyalty will not treat his customers in such an unprofessional manner. He has clearly got away with his on numerous occasions and it is time for this to stop.
Recommendations
If you’re after flavoursome seasoned steak that describes what it promises, this is NOT the place for you. Unless you like dry, bland, chewy steak.
Not sure about the service in Toro’s but Toro’s definitely exceeds Kobe’s for seasoned and tender steaks that actually live up to the price paid.
If you’re after ambience and a rude manager that is notorious for overcharging the bills and does nothing about it, then come right in to Kobe Sizzlers. You’ll have a dead and dry experience, just like the corpse of Kobe Bryant.
If you do decide to go here, I would advise you to PLEASE double check your bills, especially if the eat out to help out scheme extends to September as I wouldn’t want this bad experience to affect any more people as it already has in the hands of a greedy and rude manager.
Final notes.
TO SUM UP, From friends, colleagues, reviews on Google, family and my own personal experience on three occasions. THE STEAK IS BELOW AVERAGE AND NOT WORTH IT AT ALL! YOU’RE BETTER OFF GOING TO IT’S COMPETITORS SUCH AS ETCHI MEHMET AND MORE...
Read morePLEASE IGNORE TO DINE HERE FOR YOUR OWN HEALTH AND READ COMMENTS AS THEY ARE EYE OPENER. DOESN,T EVEN DESERVE 1 STAR. We went to dine on the 17th October 2024 at Kobe sizzler in Moseley B13 9EF Birmingham, to celebrate my daughter’s 13th Birthday. There were only 3 table seated and it was quiet night. My daughter was very excited to try lamb sizzler for the 1st time. And we all were looking forward to nice meal. Our bill was £85.70 and as per their suggestion we order/try it all.
We ordered crispy chicken for starters, my husband ordered chicken sizzlers with schewan sauce, my daughter ordered lamb sizzler with peppercorn sauce, I ordered grilled burger and from kids menu chicken goujon for my 5year old son. (This was simple meal order yet the waiter got missed and gave wrong order when served)
1st of all I couldn’t finish my meal it’s was something odd about meal and I said to my family I can’t eat so left 3/4 of my burger. My husband ate all his food. My daughter left half as it was big meal for her as sizzler is a big size. My son only ate few bites and went to sleep.
The next morning my family was feeling dull and as day went passed we were all ill my husband and my daughter are feeling super unwell. They both are feelings nausea, vomited twice, dizziness and had temperature. My husband had to return from work he was nauseating, chills and temperature kept going up. I was called from my daughter’s school to pick her up from school as she is dizzy and vomited at school. I feel dizzy and nauseous too thanks that I didn’t eat my food at restaurant. Also the ambulance had to be called as my family were sick.
I had to raised a complaint letter to the restaurant on poor quality food service. We are very disappointed and concerned about our health at this point. All the symptoms that appearing were of FOOD POISONING. This has really spoiled our mood and sense of ourselves after the momentous day in our life. We have a family GP and he has advised the symptoms can last up to 7days. We were also holding a 13th birthday party tomorrow on Saturday the 19th of October but we had to postponed and cancel it. We didn’t hear back from the owner how they could help us or to discuss this situation.
We are at disbelief that we came to nice restaurant to mark my daughter day but we were at complete shock and poor health condition. I have uploaded few pictures for your reference and for you to understand the how much food we had parcel it back and this morning it has all gone in bin
Every guest should feel good and happy after a good meal at restaurant like yours but we almost packed all our food as I thought may be I could eat at home later in the night but I couldn’t. WE ARE VERY DISAPPOINTED. As adult at a point we adjust to poor health but my daughter is sleeping and resting in her room whereas she should be enjoying her school and be excited about her party. Our complaint was not heard and I just wish we read the reviews here before dining. Also I did dine during Covid and had a good time then but it was horrible experience.
I have rang the restaurant to discuss the matter but it only heard back from a lady who was denying that their food was wrong and till this day 28/10/24 I haven’t even received an...
