Wrong order, Staff refuse to accept calls, take no accountability, refuse to accept mistake. Didn’t even offer to replace order, didn’t offer any refund or monetary compensation.
Made an order through Uber, got here late and cold, nature of the beast I can understand that. Burger had modifications on it however it arrived with no modification on it. I’ve called the number as this can be a simple exchange, new burger with modifications, I’d even collect it if needed. Couldn’t get through. Over a period of 40 minutes and about 20 calls. No response. Decide to drive up so I can just ask for my refund.
Get there, place is empty minus delivery drivers. Understandable it’s 11:00pm. Wait 10 minutes as only customer at counter. Senior staff told me that because it’s a delivery order I can get my refund there. Told him I can’t eat a refund and delivery had no fault in this, they didn’t add food I requested to be taken out. At no point did he offer a replacement. At no point did he offer anything to subsidise it and at no point did he suggest that they were at fault. A lot of apologies and “I understand” but nothing tangible. I showed the 18 missed calls to which he said we were busy. At this point I asked him to confirm the numbers that appear on the site, the app and the receipt. Which he did. I proceeded to call the phone. There was no ringing. He showed me the phone and there was no dialling call. After 15 seconds something miraculously changed and my number started appearing and ringing on their phone. My guess is they are silencing calls coming in so you can’t ring up and complain betting on people not being motivated enough to follow through. Being “busy” does not stop the phone from ringing and being “busy” Doesnt last for 40 minutes almost non stop as you would be sick of the dialling tone. Ultimately at that point, I ended up giving up as it was a waste of time.
I will give staff credit for their deescalation training. Clearly have been trained on how to make sure that McDonald’s does not lose anything as it might show up on their books and make the franchise owner look bad. To be fair, despite treating me like an idiot, he was never rude.
Ultimately my advice. If you are able to order from Olton McDonald’s, it’s not that much further away and their mistake rate is lower. I bet you they probably actually pick up their phone if you needed to make a complaint. It’s fast food (was 50 minutes from ordering, not that fast) but mistakes happen and that’s understandable. But wasting my time and not even offering me a food replacement to fix their mistake leaves me hungry and angry.
I know this is a long review. Can anybody who reads this please give their number a call, it’s on their site. In no way harass them. But just confirm that this is not a problem with my phone only. Worst case you make a call and waste a bit of time. Best case, they don’t use stupid tactics like...
Read moreI should have guessed that if this place was not busy on Friday lunchtime, there's a problem. It wasn't busy. Four customers stood in the middle, looking like they had been there for a long time and were bored. Ordering a takeout was easy on the screen, for two of us en route to Birmingham. There was one group of four eating in, and one employee propping up his mop. The condiment trays were empty of condiment but bizarrely contained damp, smelly dishcloths! The ketchup dispenser was clogged with red stalactites! My order of two burgers, fries and a drink was number three and took about 8 minutes to arrive. I could see on the screen it was ready. A large youth, I'm guessing 16 by the sprouting of black beard and 'tache, with brown bag in hand, mumbled something incomprehensible and I asked if it was my order number. There was a flicker of contempt in his eyes but no other clue so I reached out to take it and the drink on the counter, but he slid it away and put a straw and two paper serviettes into the bag, and then pushed both items towards me, squeezing the drink cup so that cola came through the top. Then he turned without acknowledgement of my thank you. By contrast, the next server, slight older, called out the next order number for the chap who came in after me so clearly, and said "there you go sir, have a good day"! Car was still undamaged in the strangely arranged car park thankfully, so avoiding the narrow space kerbs and drive through queue, so we set off before opening the bag. Inside, the fries box was on its side so half empty. The fries were cold and not very salty. The first burger was barely warm and the second box was squashed. We ate only half. The cola was okay. If we hadn't been stuck on a dual carriageway, I would probably have taken it back. Next time I'm passing, I will keep driving. There's a nice McDs on the A14...
Read moreI am in Mac Donald’s yardley And asked for a drink of tap water to take a tablet. I have been told they don’t have water here !,, do they not have a brain cell that tells them it’s water that make Americano coffe or goes into the soft drink that are then carbonated and flushes the toilets and privides water to mop the floors !,etc etc etc , I really can not believe it,, this was the manager who told me this there is no hope . I was told to buy a bottle of water , I was purchasing a breakfast meal not just asking for water, that like I’ve said I am entitled to .
It is the law that they have to provide you with drinking water I have called head office only to be told this is a franchised restaurant and Mac Donald’s don’t own it !,, they still have to follow the rules and regulations of Mac ds like it or not .
Watch this space for a reply from this man who owns it.
The food was fine , and they lady who cleans for them couldn’t have been nicer, and was very polite maybe she should be the manager !,, but the manager need to go on a customer service learning course, not go a clue how to deal with customers and keep them coming back to their local, in fact I will not come here again now I know it’s a franchise.
SO DONT Ask for water they don’t have a water supply !!!! I must contact Severn Trent and find out why they don’t supply water...
