Subway — Restaurant in Birmingham

Walked into this Subway, greeted by Tej the Tuna Whisperer. Asked the classic question: “Is the meat halal?” Tej replies, “Not currently, but we’ve got veggie patty or tuna.” Cool. I go for the tuna. He asks if I want cheese. I say yes. He asks “extra cheese?” I say yes again – thinking I’m in for a melty tuna-cheesy delight.

Now here’s where the plot twist hits harder than a stale baguette. After patiently waiting for it to be toasted, I’m charged for a meal deal. Salad time comes, I choose my toppings and sauce like a Subway pro. He wraps it up, and I realise… WHERE'S THE TUNA, TEJ?!

I question it. Tej says: “You didn’t ask for tuna.” I mean… what?? Did we not have a whole deep and meaningful about halal meat and the sacred tuna option?? What did he think I wanted – a warm cheese and lettuce burrito?

I ask for a refund – because honestly, I came for a sandwich, not an argument. Tej says “Sorry it’s already been put through.” But here’s the legal bit, Tej – no goods received = refund still very much a thing. You’re not Subway’s Gordon Ramsay, you're just shouting at customers like I asked for caviar on a £5 meal deal.

Finale: Tej on the phone to his boss, dramatically retelling the story minus the part where he forgot the main filling. Can’t make this up.

So no, I won’t be coming back. Not unless I fancy a toasted air sandwich with a side...

Such poor service! Our family was at front of line to be served and a rather big order came through the employees tablet and he proceeded to make the online customers 4 sandwiches which took over 15 minutes! When asked if there was anyone else working with him who can help with serving we noticed that another employee was sitting at one of the tables with her coat over her head fast asleep! What kind of crazy restaurant is this!!! Shame I couldn’t give it a “0” star...

I really liked this place ,it is clean and spacious ,a very good choice of subs &wraps ,it but difficult to see the menu behind counter due to small wording &wished there were menus on tables also a nice seating area ,pleasant helpful staff and it situated in a prime location amongst a good group of other shops .it a great asset to the area for...
