Really not sure where to start but I’ve just picked up an order of samosas from this place for the first time, traveling from the other side of Birmingham because a colleague vouched that they sell the best samosas in Birmingham.
I have to admit the samosas are quite nice and the shop looks very clean compared to some places I’ve been to.
But be warned this establishment Has zero customer service!
I’m still in shock as I write this review but I can’t believe that this has happened. Upon picking up my order the elder gent behind the counter advised that it was 25p for chilli sauce.
Thinking a little tub of sauce would be free considering I ordered a few samosas, but it’s fine as sauce costs money to make but this establishment does not accept card payments and I had only came out with the cash I was quoted on the phone. Not wanting to go away with any sauce after traveling so far I decided to liaise with the chap and confirmed I would be happy to drop the 25p off at another time if the store was really adamant on charging customers, fair to say the gent was not having any of it .
As I did not want to cause a scene I asked the gent to remove a samosa from the box so I could have chutney instead, he then gave me one chutney. Luckily my arithmetic skills are decent and I told him one samosa cost me 60p and therefore I was entitled to 2 sauces and 10p change- if the store is going to be adamant on claiming every penny then surely it should not display double standards and give customers the correct value for money in return?
I’ve been to establishments in sparkhill who are known for backward minds and I still genuinely receive a satisfactory level of customer service, maybe my expectations of this place were too high?
On my experience alone, I would not recommend this place and definitely will not be taking my colleagues advice regarding...
Read moreReally need to urge people not eat from this place. They advocate or shall I say boast a reputable hygiene rating, well the establishment had last been inspected 2019 we are now in 2022, just like the standards of hygiene have dropped so has the customer service, the paunchy lady who gives it the large (mind the pun) 'hi darling, take care sweetheart' fake attitude whilst giving you a bag half packed with its contents seeping out, really is unbelievable, actions speak louder, pudgey lady. How about you spend less time stuffing your face and scarring customers and genuinely show an ounce of care and deliver somewhat of a satisfactory service. A side note, if you actually put all the items in the bag there is an increase chance of burning calories; just saying. Oh before I forget, muktars recently reduced the tub size of this magic sauce made at 4am in the morning lol, however the price remains extortionate and if you look closely the sauce in the newly significantly reduced tub size is barely touching the halfway line, so what your really getting is a glass half empty but paying full on inflation, you call this an honest living, an honest trade, you abuse food and you abuse every customer that walks through the door. Absolutely despicable. I'm taking my hard earned cash...
Read moreI've been coming here for years and always received good service. The main woman has always been pleasant and friendly. Lovely chutney, a very unique flavour. However, good quality does seem to have dropped. On a couple of occasions I have received samosas that were fried the day before (I hope not longer than that!) so the pastry was very soft and not enioyable and the the filling was dry. I recently bought a shish kebab hot dog after many years and after 2 bites it went straight into the bin. The shish kebab itself only tasted of raw gram/chickpea flour. I can't comment on anything else.
Please do not serve old samosas to people. If you have some left over from the previous day then please make people aware and perhaps sell them at a lower price. This avoids regulsr customers such as myself from being disappointed and not...
