Tried this place for the first time. Upon walking in, you get a nice vibe from it, it's calm and relaxed. Once seated we ordered the Tawa for 2, this consisted of Sheesh Kebabs, Wings, Lamb Chops, Chicken Tikka Pieces, Fries, Chicken and Lamb Curry with 1 Naan and 1 Roti (see pictures).
This was a nice mix and would surely have a great mix for anyone who purchases this. The Sheesh kebabs were really nice, better than a lot of other places, had plenty of meat on all sides, no side was too thin and at risk of being dry. However, this is pretty much where the high praises stops. That's not to say the rest of the food is all bad, it was your average food that you would get from any restaurant, wasn't like an amazing flavour but decent enough to enjoy.
The only thing I disliked were the wings, they were extremely small and didn't have much meat on the bone, aside from food the only other downfall was th oil pool that was left in the centre of the tray that the Tawa is served in. As it dips in the centre, anything that sits near the curries or the centre will be covered in oil. Also the onions that accompany the Tawa, I'd say you should sauté them before serving otherwise it's just raw onions on the side, I think the sautéed onions would be a complement.
Thete are toilet facilities here, 1 each for the ladies and gents. Overall a clean environment.
Would I revisit? Yes, but not as often as my regulars, maybe if I fancied a break from the regular places I visit.
Card payment is accepted here, which is a bonus, so thumbs...
Read moreI got a delivery on Just Eat, the Chicken Tikka Masala was REALLY oily. Like it had so much oil, the box was leaking as it arrived.
The actual meat was pretty good but the sauce just ruined it. I was all down for a spicy meal so that’s not the problem, it’s just it looked, tasted and smelled nothing like a Chicken Tikka Masala. The good thing about this dish is that it is usually the same with every restaurant, slight variations but the same. This was the antithesis of what I was expecting, and I made sure I read the description of the dish.
It would be really helpful if you could be clear on all the menus that this is nothing like the normal dish and the texture/ taste is completely different.
I sent in a complaint but got no refund and just got a generic answer that every restaurant is different. But it doesn’t excuse that, it had so much oil in it that the US was trying to invade. It didn’t have the beautiful creamy orange/ red sauce it normally has and what was in its place was inedible.
I don’t have a lot of money, so I don’t have a ‘go to’ Indian restaurant. I was really looking forward to this all day and was really let down. Sorry to be harsh but I wish I wasn’t mislead into believing this is a...

My family and I visited Nafees on Birchfield Road after a long day of moving house. With my wife and two kids exhausted and dehydrated from fizzy drinks all day, we just wanted a simple, quick meal. When the waiter asked for drinks, I politely requested tap water (or even a jug) since we’d had enough sugary drinks.
To my surprise, the waiter refused outright—no flexibility, no courtesy. Instead, he pushed a large bottled water for an extra charge. The way he reacted made us feel degraded, as if asking for tap water was some outrageous demand. My wife was so embarrassed by the awkwardness that she stopped me from walking out, even though I was ready to leave.
It’s shocking that a restaurant charging £60 for a meal won’t provide basic tap water without making customers feel cheap for asking. If you’re happy to pay for overpriced bottled water, fine—but don’t expect any hospitality if you request something as simple as free water. We won’t be returning.
I am more than happy to speak with the owner regarding this if he is...
