Thoroughly Enjoyable Food!

The trip here wasn't planned. Was shopping in B'ham New Street. Ended up taking longer than normal so I thought I'd look to see what nearby shop was HMC certified.

I rang up before I got there to ask about parking. The person said there was plenty and he was right. Didn't stay to eat there. Did an order big enough for 3!

The Mix Grill offering was very generous. 4 different starters × 2. It was all very well cooked and it all had its own striking taste. You can tell it was freshly prepared.

We also opted for the lamb curry and that proved to be a big hit. Partner ate just as much as me whereas normally she's reluctant to have too much unless it's something specific and to her liking.

If isn't the fanciest place. It's very basic inside and looks a little tired. If there was one suggestion, it'd be to improve that. I would definitely go back but I'd prefer to sit in a comfortable/inviting area.

The customer service was excellent. I know the boys were fasting as it was Ramadhan but they were very helpful when I queried them over a few things on the big menu.

There is plenty of choice and the price...

We ordered masala fish, donner and a mix platter. The chops on the mixed platter were overcooked. Apart from that however, the food was good. However, I would like to point out that the portion sizes aren’t as large as I expected. I ordered a large dinner and a large curry. However, neither of them looked large. They looked more like a small😭. My advice would be to order a bit more than you’ll think you need. The dining area wasn’t the cleanest either. But it wasn’t rank and disgusting either. It was good enough that I could eat my food without feeling unhygienic. The service staff were as polite as they were able to be. However, they were a bit inundated due to being busy and therefore i had to wait quite a while to put an order through or to ask for a table and also to pay the bill. However, the staff were kind when the restaurant wasn’t so busy and allowed us to borrow their prayer mats...

Went with a friend after seeing the Tik Toq promotions. Food really nice. I did feel quite pricey though but may be okay. Not sure what others may think. Had the Tawa Platter for two which included a large bottle of ice cola. It came to £35.00! Quite a small ish place so for me, may be if I went with my wife and kids, they may feel a bit awkward but others I know have been and don't share my view. Staff are genuinely lovely people and the service is quick. A major negative for me is the fact that they are cash only. I just had my cards with me so was going to have to go to a cash point after ordering. Fortunately my friend had just about enough cash on him. I do wonder why in this day and age we still have businesses who will only accept cash. Well, having worked for both HMRC and DWP, I do know why!!! Never mind!
