Recently, my family and I had the pleasure of dining at Hawam Tawa & Grill, a restaurant that came highly recommended. We arrived an hour before closing and were pleasantly surprised to find the place nearly empty, with ample seating available. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by a friendly staff member who set the tone for an exceptional dining experience.
Our main purpose for visiting was to sample their renowned Tawa Grill, and let me tell you, it was an absolute delight. This sizzling creation had everything we could have dreamed of, all beautifully cooked on their tawa. From succulent chicken karahi and lamb karahi to tantalizing lamb chops, chicken tikka, lamb kebab, and even curly fries, this tawa had it all. It was like a culinary adventure on a single platter. The addition of a mix of naan and rotis, along with a touch of rice, completed this mouthwatering ensemble. The portion size was beyond generous and easily satisfied the appetites of our family of four.
Although the Tawa Grill stole the show, we also indulged in some irresistible extras. The chicken pakoras were skillfully battered and bursting with flavor, providing a perfect start to our meal. The crispy pappadoms added a delightful crunch, and the jug of mango lassi, with its creamy and thick consistency, was the ultimate refreshing companion to our feast.
What truly made our experience memorable, however, was the exceptional service provided by both the staff and the owner. Their warm and friendly demeanor made us feel like valued guests, and their attentiveness throughout the meal was commendable. It's not often that you come across such genuine hospitality.
Would I visit Hawam Tawa & Grill again? Most definitely! This hidden gem has won me over with its scrumptious Tawa Grill and top-notch service. If you're in search of a fulfilling and satisfying meal for your family, I highly recommend giving this place a try. Hawam Tawa & Grill is a culinary haven that deserves all the praise...
Read moreNice comfort food. Went out with a friend for a dinner, we took platter for 1 which was perfectly enough for two of us.
Good fast service , lovely staff not pushy, giving honest advice about size of the portion, clean place.
Unfortunately no parking and the off street was all taken so had to use Morrisons one which is free 2 hrs only. It was good enough tume for us but if you are planning on a lengthy dinner you might want to find different opinion.
It is definitely a place to come back to.
Edit: So I did. However this time it wasn't that positive experience. Ordered same things plus extra. Food was very average, things on the platter didn't taste too well, unseasoned and gave that leftover food taste. It was cold and felt it was prepared in advance, and you can tell that by the looks and taste of chicken wings if you ever had then next day so this was exactly the same, dry and woody in texture.
Samosa chaat good taste but samosa itself had very hard pastry that you can't break with the fork.
Children menu peri peri strips looked and tasted very bland. Don't know if that was the reason for my childs sickness the next day.
It wasn't nice meal, when I think of it I would say even below average, not a restaurant quality. Not sure if the reason behind it was that they had some bigger bookings for a large group of people and maybe their chef was focusing on the bigger order leaving our food to be prepared by some else what unfortunately reflected on the quality.
Unfortunately I won't get going back again there and this is the note for myself to...
Read moreHello all, I would like to share my experience of eating here. I booked the place for my family of 21 guests the seating was ok and the place was busy , I was recomened this place by family member, the decor was ok nothing special but we where here for the food. Which sorry to say was horribile, we ordered 1 medium tawa and 1 large tawa and meals for the children the chps where ubder cooked the meat in the handis was off and the wings tasted off, chicken tikka was ok. We paid extra for 2 of the handis to be changed and they where horribile and nasty the butter chicken was not butter chicken dont what it was and palak ghost was disgusting. The kids meals was a rip off ordered some chicken tender meals x4 and they where processed cheap chicken strips from any supermarket and we also asked for chicken burgers which where also processed chiken burgers where you can get cheaply from any supermarket and we where chraged £6 for each of these meals. My both of my brothers have had a bad stomack ache from eating here. I paid £200 for the bad food I had here and raised this with the owner who kept on disagreeing with me and I paid what I owed and left. I will be reporting them to birmingham environmental health. We took the left over food and when we got home it smelt so bad put it straight in the bin. Please dont eat here as there food is a health concern and will cause you to be ill, I am greatful that our...
