Nice, Cosy intimate place, lovely and welcoming staff, like the fact that the owner Ben was of service and quite accommodating regarding my feedback despite the initial misunderstanding.

It would be nice for staff to be presented in uniforms as I had mistaken one of the members of staff as a customer however, it makes it look more professional and appealing..

I was surprised also that I was asked if I wanted my cutlery to be changed between my other courses as I thought it would have been a normal thing to do if you've finished your appetizer and ready to go onto the next serving. I've been to many, many restaurants and I would always be served with fresh cutlery between the starter and the main without being asked if I wanted my cutlery to be changed. Anyway, I've been, I've tried and was not impressed with the food quality.

I had an olives dish for my starter and would have expected some crusty bread with a dash of balsamic vinegar and oil but was served just a small bowl of olives and nothing else.

I then had the seafood soup and despite there being a good few large prawns I was extremely disappointed that there were no flesh in sight at all only the shelll! I thought it could possibly have been boiled down into the soup but nothing at all! , a nice amount of muscles and a bit of squid however, the soup was really bland, so not to my liking..

It was clear Ben the owner aimed to please and I must say he certainly has good costumer service and made sure I was satisfied and spent time listening to my feedback. However, for me the food is not authentic Italian and what I had lacked flavor. I would not completely say I won't attend again however, if I do i may try something else but won't be what I had...

UPDATE - I would like to add that since posting my review, the owner of Tropea has reached out to me. I received a very honest response from him and his apologies for our experience. He said that they have listened to customer feedback and the issues raised have now been resolved. I shall definitely be revisiting, as I said in my review the food was really delicious. We just ended up with far too much! So please do not let my review put you off trying Tropea.

I had been really looking forward to trying Tropea, especially as it seems to always have such fantastic reviews.

Our experience was not so great, I felt that we were upsold at every opportunity. I wanted to order a couple of things to share and I said that I wouldn’t want a main after the pasta course but the waitress was insistent that we hadn’t ordered much and that the portions were small. We took her advice, not at a small price I should add, and as a result we ordered far too much food.

Although the starters and the pastas were excellent, we found the two main dishes rather underwhelming. We didn’t eat these, we did ask to take them home, they ended up in the bin though as neither of us really fancied them the next day.

It’s a shame, because we did really enjoy the rest of the meal and I would probably go back and stand our ground this time. It just really felt like we were being squeezed for every penny we had, not a...

Was extremely pleased with this restaurant and staff were very friendly from the moment you enter. I had some booking issues but was able to resolve them quickly through email and received a prompt call to follow my issue. The solution was clearly explained and made it easy to find an alternative.

In terms of food, everything was delicious and well plated. Food came out in a timely manner and more surprisingly, menus also included a small message celebrating the occasion! Truly get a taste of every dish if you can but if not, get the Arancino and salt aged-beef fillet carpaccio for starters. For pasta, the linguine with red prawns was tangy and flavoursome but meat lovers would enjoy the Tagliatelle with venison shoulder ragu. The grilled octopus was delightful and meaty and balanced well with the roasted pumpkin with ricotta.

Dessert is certainly difficult to choose but the tiramisu was wonderful, fluffy but also still maintained the coffee flavour well! The panna cotta was amazingly refreshing with rhubarb and wafer~

Only thing that isn’t really a negative but just funny was a slight change to my name but honestly made the experience more memorable. I really appreciate the effort and care in every detail to ensure comfort and ease whilst dining!

Overall glad I came and shoutout to the team there for making this service amazing from beginning to end! You all deserve a lot...

Me and my partner dine in for dinner night, we like to try authentic Italian food as we are Italian and i can assure this was properly made Italian dishes, really pleased to see the vitello tonnato on the menu and that it actually tasted like back home. We started with two cocktails that they were good, in my taste I didn't enjoyed the Olive Martini as it was quite too alcoholic, but that's just my taste. We ordered Nero D'Avola that was really rich and rounded (i loved it), but my partner suggestion is that a £40 wine should have the cork, but again that's just our personal opinion🙂 Started with the goat cheese courgette that they where AMAZING, you need to try them, followed by two pasta also very good, fresh ingredients and again we felt like we were eating at our Nonna house ❤️ as main we shared the pork that it was incredibly well cooked and tasty and to finish Tiramisu, that it was fantastic and fresh as made at home. As a personal feedback we would have liked to have the focaccia/bread to be offered as an entrée, as is really traditional in the restaurants in Italy. I Really suggest this restaurant we will be back to try other dishes(can't wait!) Service was really friendly and professional at the same time, loved the girl that was explaining all the dishes. Thanks!
