1st time back in several years, but have been using this lovely bar in a beautiful setting on and off for over 35 years.

The pleasant Staff didn't seem to be pushing the covid-19 rules or track & trace as rigorously as other places we have been to at alll this afternoon. We waited ages at the entrance door, as per their notice and sanitised our hands, but nobody greeted us even though they could see that 2 of us 4 were on walking sticks as they moved about the bar area. Eventually my son had to go and ask at the bar what to do. They told us we could sit anywhere and to order and take our own drinks from the bar to the table and then order food when a waitress came to us.

We chose to sit on thw outside decking area Beware of 3 deep steps with no warning of them coming down to the decking area. My disabled husband nearly fell on the 1st step down as we came outside. Definitely needs black/yellow hazard tape putting on the edges of the steps or bright paint and a warning notice as you come out the bar doors too. Not very 'disabled customer friendly' to/from decking area.

The picnic benches on the decking area seemed a bit too close really for social distancing. and even the Waitresses appeared oblivious to it too when taking orders and bringing out the food for us. The Waitresses were very nice and friendly but leant across us and the table when bringing the food over or collecting glasses Also they used no gloves or masks either for their/our protection. Though possibly optionable maybe?

The menu was fine with a good selection of bar food and reasonably priced. We had jacket spud cheese and beans, tuna baguette and salad, chicken wings and a chilli and cheese beefburger. The food was presented very nicely and was hot and tasty. The only downside was the chips and cheesey chips side dishes were oven chips not freshly cut ones and the baguette was a part bake and only lightly baked, if at all. The mixed side salad was fresh and crispy with a good assortment of lettuce, peppers; tomatoes and cucumber and the home made coleslaw was gorgeous.

Finally, we found access was not very 'disabled customer friendly' to/from Nemos Bar to the car park ie steep stairway up/down to the walkway going around...

Right where do I start with a shipyard usually. What a brilliant place to go on a sunny day. All the bar staff are super friendly and helpful. The bar itself has a great vibe with its ship/diving theme. A pier type outdoor seating area with a complete view of the cove. And plenty of indoor seating to accommodate the restaurant keeping with the ship style theme. They have a good selection of beers ales and ciders along with a good selection of spirits. Along with hot drinks and plenty kids drink options too. Now the food, the burgers are delicious home made style beef burger with the choice of fries or chunky chips and they always come out cooked spot on in my opinion but they are a thick burger so some would probably like it a little more done.. they also do chicken and fish but haven’t tried them yet so cannot comment. We have also had the steak chia batter which is also spot on. Overall the food is very good. They have also started doing a bike night on a Tuesday so it does get very busy must be over 400 people plus turn up on average so it becomes alot busier than usual. The staff handle it well with a good queuing system and still fast service. Toilets are always clean. Along with the place it’s self. Definitely worth a visit even if your not from the...

Food was delicious although they don't serve sauce of any kind to accompany your steak and method of payment is absolutely bizarre.... we were greeted and seated with a very warm welcome but after we'd ordered and received our drinks another staff member came to the table and just said the price for the drinks then card or cash.... we then ordered our food , once it arrived the same lady then came to the table again asked if it was ok and then stated the price and asked "card or cash".... we had just started to eat , so I thought this method quite bizarre, my partner asked for a 2nd drink which was bought to the table , again the lady showed a couple of mins later stated the price for the drink , saw there was change on the table and proceeded to take as she was asking "shall I just take this". ?? Due to the constant pestering for monies after every order I feel that the service was quite rude.. I think maybe the restaurant would benefit from an end of meal bill/tab system or to pay for everything upfront when ordering to reduce the stress and annoyance of someone back and forth to the table while your trying to...

A great spot for a post dip drink. Sitting outside overlooking the quarry in good weather with a nice pint is definitely a good reason to come here. However, the food was disappointing. I had a ham wrap which was literally just a bit of salad and a bit of ham in a dry tortilla wrap which barely held together (as you can see from the carefully placed toothpick). There was no sauce or dressing in the wrap so it wasn't pleasant to eat. I had to smother it with mayonnaise to make it a bit more palatable. The sweet potato crisps though we're a nice touch but could have been thicker to avoid them being greasy. I would come here again for a drink but would consider my food order more carefully next time.

This Place Could Be Fantastic With A Menu Overhaul and A Little TLC. Visited Last Week Food Wasn't Great. Had the Chefs Salad with Grilled Chicken and Bacon : Salad wasnt very fresh and some chicken was over cooked Bacon was tough also. Jacket Potato with Cheese and Beans : Potato was Dry needed more Butter. Balsamic Should be an option on both dishes. I think we were the only Diners in the hour or so we spent there 🤔. Mens Toilets needs a lick of paint as the Ceiling was Covered in Mould 😳
