A lovely little place in Bodmin. Parking right outside which was a big plus. Then inside a great choice of beers on draught. But saw The General at 8.4% ABV was a must try. A fantastic drink not so easy to find on draught. We then ordered a nut roast and a triple meat roast which came in a well reasonable time. The roasts certainly delivered. In my long life I have had many great roasts over the years and these were right up there. Fantastic choice of vegetables and huge Yorkie. The toasties as well as meat were spot on. Wife loved the Veggie nut roast as well. Everything was Great from start to finish including the service as well. Great staff. This place is a Tardis fronted by one of the most welcoming ladies I’ve come across in a pub - it’s great inside, old, cool and nicely decorated. Good menu and my word the fish and chips we all had was amazing. Walk through the pub and you’ll find a big dining room with a massive window looking out across the bear garden and across to the hills and old jail. Great selection of beers and the table we had was brilliant. We were the only ones outside so maybe we’ve uncovered a hidden gem or just beat the mad rush I’d expect for a place offering this food, service and those views! My only regret was I started eating before picturing the fab food, but it looked and smelled that good, I reckon you’ll all forgive me when you go try it for...

Really great little pub. And brilliant food as well. Very well priced with a varied selection. Excellent Sunday lunch!! Friendly atmosphere in the front bar and ample seating area for eating at the rear of the pub. Nice decked area also at the rear off the pub with great views of Bodmim Jail. As a sport lover i would definitely recomend this venue with multiple screens. I realise this is not everyones cup of tea but i would like to add i did not find the televisions in anyway annoying and in no way did they spoil my enjoyment of the pub. The staff were spot on and service was both friendly and efficient. As an ex licensee i am normally quite critical but to be honest the Mason's Arms have everything just right imo !...
