Have lived in Bodmin all my life, the Beacon is now well kept, with the Council now maintaining the grass and Gorse areas far better, several walks have now been developed over the year's, pleasant early morning and evening walks with the wildlife very prominent. The let down is the public, especially those who drop litter and leave broken bottles (a danger to both young children and dogs) and dog owners not cleaning up thier mess which is a growing problem. Read moreBeautiful views from up top. You can park reasonably close to the beacon. Once you're at the top of the hill, there's not much other than a few benches and the beacon itself.
It's a nice place to go for a wonder just for the views when you're there. I'd personally avoid taking direction from Google maps once you're up there because I took me the wrong way. There are only a few paths, so simply follow the one in the direction...
