My husband and I planned a trip to Bodmin for charity shop shopping, so I looked around for a restaurant for us to stop at. I came across Pots and looked at the reviews. I actually respect an owner who addresses issues/defends their business. I purposely picked this restaurant to make my own review about it. I'm glad we went! It was such a great place. The food was so tasty and plentiful! The prices were very reasonable. The staff served with a smile. Unfortunately, some restaurants bad reviews are from people unhappy in general, so they need to complain. I couldn't find anything wrong with the place...the bathroom is small, but that can't be helped , it was very clean. I had the bacon, brie & cranberry panini...chefs kiss...it was perfectly balanced in flavour. My husband had the big English breakfast, without mushrooms or tomatoes. He said it was gorgeous and loved the sausage, saying it was lovely tasting . He was impressed with the bread. I had a vanilla/caramel latte, and it was fabulous. We will definitely be back as we live 25 minutes away, and it's worth the trip.

Pots do the best breakfast around, both for value and flavour. It’s hard to find a large breakfast these days with giant portions, but the ‘mega’ breakfast is so good. Giant plate and 2 door wedges of white bread. The menu is 10/10, whatever breakfast or lunch you’re in the mood for pots can no doubt pull it off. The photo of my chicken salad sandwich I had for lunch doesn’t do justice for the flavour and size of it (took the photo half way through eating). They have loads of books, pencils / crayons and games for children to be entertained, and you won’t wait long for the food so little one was happy.

Empty when we arrived but quickly filled up at lunchtime. Friendly service, plenty of seating on two floors. Cafe had it's fair share of regulars which says a lot including one lady who was on first name terms with the staff, who, in her broad Cornish accent shouted 'I'll have my usual, and don't give any of that brown bread or we're going to fall out.' Brilliant! We did have a chuckle as we left.

We visited the cafe in the week with 3 of our friends, my baby and our dog. As soon as we walked in we did not feel welcome at all. It was as if we were a hindrance being there. There was no room upstairs so had to go downstairs which felt like more of a hindrance to them. As we sat down we heard one of the staff saying to another customer 'I'll get to you in a minute, everyone has come at once'. Another member of staff came downstairs and was very passive aggressive about where my sons pushchair was. Rather than ask politely if we could move it she decided to talk about it to another member of staff. There was only one young girl who worked there who was professional and lovely. Also there were no facilities to change our son and there was a leak in the bathroom ceiling that was 'solved' by an ice cream tub that was put on the toilet seat. We had to take the tub off to use the toilet. We will not be visiting again.

Following from the rude response: you did NOT talk to me directly about my child's pushchair. I had to ask you if you wanted me to move it because you were speaking to another member of staff about it in a very rude way. Baring in mind, the pushchair moved a couple or inches, it was hardly in your way. Also, why is food being stored at your 'fire exit' where we saw members of staff bringing produce including open baguettes stuffed in their pockets, through the seating area? Rather than respond aggressively like I have seen on other reviews, admit your mistakes and be more professional! I have already passed the details of our experience onto the food standards agency. Why is it that when every customer writes a bad review you respond in a very rude manner and blame the weather and being busy? When we were there, there were only 4 tables of customers. A bit of is no excuse for having a leak in the ceiling and having a container...

I used to love the food, these days they can't even cook bacon! Even when I request well done and crispy 🤷🏼‍♀️ Disappointed is an understatement.

I sat inside the cafe with my husband....like always because I'm a local! I didn't just have a bacon sandwich wrapped in foil to take away 😆. My triple decker was served on a plate 🤷🏼‍♀️ (cheese beans and bacon inside a couple of slice's of toast.... They agreed before I ordered to remove or crisp up the fat and not give me soggy rind as I can't eat it. I even said I'm happy to order something else if it's not possible,

I have photos of all the soggy rind to prove that I'm not lying with...
