McDonald's — Restaurant in Bolsover

It's McDonald's so the food is as you'd expect. Service is usually quick, or at least as quick as it can be at this time (During the SARS-COV-2 Pandemic). Have seemingly always handled traffic really well during the pandemic and of course, the food always seems to come out nice and hot. If the McDonald's locations in Sutton and Mansfield are roughly the same sort of distance as this one, I'd thoroughly recommend this one over the other two, though do be aware that prices are slightly higher at this location, hence the 4 star review. If it weren't for the higher prices, this would be an easy 5* location. However, this location seems to consistently deliver food that is hot enough to arrive home still hot, definitely more consistent than other nearby locations.

2024 Edit: Service has gone downhill. You'll likely struggle to park as most drive thru orders will be told to park up. You're often left waiting 10-15 minutes for food after being told to park up. Staff are friendly enough about it, but otherwise, service is pretty slow.

Despite this wait, food often comes out only warm. Definitely not hot enough to make it home with some temperature still left in it as used to be the case. I'd suggest visiting other fast food options, including other McDonald's in the area.

October 2024 Edit: Service improved shortly after the last edit. However, it has dropped once again. Drive thru orders being told to park up seems to have improved significantly as it appears most drivers are now being served at the drive thru, as it should be.

Service times have improved at the expense of quality of work. Virtually every time I have ordered a soft drink, I've been given a cup that was either overfilled or the lid and/or cup were covered in said soft drink. This has resulted in numerous spills, albeit minor spills, as the drink pours off the lid and various splatterings of soft drink which have come off the exterior of the cup.

It's so much of an issue that I'd almost consider billing them for product cost and labour for having to clean up the mess they cause to the interior and exterior of my vehicle. And if the repeated spillage of highly acidic drinks starts to eat away at the paintwork of my vehicle, I will absolutely be chasing them for costs.

Temperature is the same as before. It comes out warm, by the time you've got home it doesn't have much heat left in it... A stark contrast to my original review.

Recommendation: Eat on-site only unless you live just down the road. For drive thru service, seek one of the other...

Constantly forget half the order when we order directly from their app, you have to get in touch with Uber about problems and Uber now won’t refund us because it’s happened too many times. Today they forget 2 burgers out of the new 3 item deal and also a box of 5 selects from the 5 selects meal. Other times they’ve not given us any chips, not out in the selects from the combo deal and other times not received our share box of cheese dippers. It’s so frustrating, especially when it’s the main part of the meal!! Wish we were able to order from another branch as this one clearly doesn’t have staff that are able to pack orders correctly

Edit: called the restaurant following call to Uber and they told us that they can’t do anything and that it could be drivers fault, explained to them again that this has happened with 95% of our orders from them and that the bags were sealed. Also the fact that McDonald’s staff pack the orders, it’s nothing to do with delivery drivers and frankly it’s disgusting they would try to blame the constant lack of attention on the drivers. They told us if Uber won’t refund it’s because we’ve had too many, again because McDonald’s constantly forget multiple items!!! Never have an issue with Uber at other places we order from only McDonald’s. They gave us a customer service line which when we called said that I contact Uber and the other option said the line was closed. So very helpful (not). I’d highly advise not using this branch! After all this I don’t even want to eat from feeling so frustrated and now the food that did arrive is cold. Thankfully we decided to reach out to customer service on Twitter following the phone number we were given by the restaurant being useless and they were able to offer us 2 free meal vouchers. Had breakfast uber eat delivery around 9:42am i normally order plain pancake but because they dont have it on the site i have to ordered the pancake with sausage but i remove sausage as a special instruction because we are muslim and we cant eat pork and add on egg instead and pay for the add on.. delivery came around 10am with normal pancake with sausage so i msg uber eat staright away but they taking long time to reply me and my daughter is hungry so tried calling the shop maybe they can do something about it bcoz its not the uber problem anyway its the food but no answer and after 15 mins i tried again still no answer.. then 11am they finally answer the lady i spoke to she said they cant do anything about it as its uber eat (which is i know about that) she also said if i have called more ealier she could have do something as they still have breakfast that time.. so then i told her i have called but no one answer she said its impossible because she was in there since 5am so then i said so why didnt she answered my called if shes there? Shes insisting she didn't get a call so i said i can over there and showed u my phone history that i called. Then she said well even if u come i got nothing to give u bcoz breakfast time is over. Well if she just answered my call first thing she could have done something about..
