Now I'm a huge weather spoons fan. I admire Tim Martin and love what he stands for and being coeliac I know I'm in safe hands when I eat there. I travel around the country alot and always eat at weather spoons I live in bolsover so do go there 3-5 times a year and have previously gave it a 5 star review on Google. But sadly today was a very bad experience and poor effort but the staff! Firstly the tables had not been cleaned , food , salt and alcohol and that was a clean table. Second I orded halloumi fries and when the inexperienced Waitress brought them to our table she said there was no sweet chilli sauce, if they had told me at the time of order I wouldn't have ordered it! So I asked what other condiments was gluten free the waitress went to ask 8 minutes later she arrived with a black folder and said "it's down to you to find out what gluten free" to be fair she was just not trained correctly by management "we will get to the manager soon"
Our main was 2 lamb shanks And a pizza for our daughter, the two lamb shanks arrived by a different member of staff a "nice and polite" young man he asked if we wanted our pizza to come now aswell (again not his fault! just not had correct training from management) after tucking in to the shank it was cold in the middle which is strange being a microwave lamb shank I didn't eat it after I could how cold it was (it's pre cooked so would not make you poorly) when the nice and polite but not properly trained man came to aske if we had finished I told him to tell the chef to go back to microwave school ( a bad joke but I know it would upset the chef but in a polite way a bit of banter) any how we asked to speak to the manager. The young man explained how sorry he was and I said it's not you fault. He was very polite and Very professional but you could tell he wasn't trained correctly and was nervous.
Now let's talk about the management she did come to the table and I explained what the issue was she came across nice at first and offered us some deserts we declined as we had had a bad time and just wanted to go. She then was saying how the kitchen had been having some issues with the freezer as they had as a mobile freezer was out side the front, then she was saying the microwave was faulty!! (Why sell food what's potentially not cooked FFS).. As she just started to walk away my wife asked for a refund for the cold lamb of which the manager gave us a look of which I can only describe as she wanted to say f#©k off with her eyes rolling she walked away and came back with £15.82 roughly. But what was more annoying was how the thew it on the table and just walked away
This weather spoons was a good one as you can see on Google and on TripAdvisor this manager is failing this pub the new staff had better manners and was more professional I will be coming back as I know this used to be a good weather spoons but just get rid of this...
Read moreOn this most delightful day, we embarked upon a most gratifying excursion to the Pillar of Rock Wetherspoons, a charming establishment nestled within the venerable town of Bolsover, where we partook in a repast after having indulged our senses in the splendid exploration of the illustrious Bolsover Castle. This modern refuge, graciously positioned just at the entrance of the castle, boasts a façade that, whilst contemporary, splendidly harmonizes with the storied architecture that encircles it, a veritable testament to the progress of time while honoring the past. Upon our arrival, we were greeted by a cadre of exemplary staff whose service embodied the very essence of hospitality, prompting us to place our modest requests through the marvel of the digital mobile device, a contrivance of convenience indeed. In a mere span of four minutes, our libations materialized before us, swiftly followed by our principal fare. The quality and freshness of the chicken-tikka-masala were of a caliber most commendable, whilst the additional dishes, hailing from a bounteous burger selection, proved equally delightful to the palate. A splendid assortment of condiments awaited our eager hands, and the overall excellence of the victuals, paired with the commendably efficient demeanor of the staff, bequeathed a most enduring joy upon our merry assemblage. As for my final observation, I must extol the unmatched standard of the facilities themselves; spacious and maintained to a scrupulously high degree, I would extend an earnest challenge to find a more welcoming and delightful convenience elsewhere...
Read moreWe came here for lunch this afternoon and it was a bad experience all round.
First, we couldn’t find a table as all of the empty tables were dirty and still needed clearing. When we asked politely if the table could be cleared, the staff member “Jo” greeted us with an attitude and said “can you not see we’re already doing it.” (the table wasn’t being cleared) after waiting for a few minutes it still hadn’t been cleared so we had to do it ourselves! During our couple of hours here we saw her give multiple dirty looks and talk about other customers to staff members!
The woman who served our drinks was equally as rude, she might as well have thrown the drinks on the table. She didn’t acknowledge us or tell us which drinks were which!
Our meals came about 5 minutes apart, my steak was very fatty and was mainly fat. It definitely wasn’t sirloin and my friends food has made her ill! She ordered some fruit for her little girl which they allowed to be ordered and paid for for a waitress to then tell us that they didn’t have any fruit despite her having already paid for it.
Overall, this experience was very shoddy which is a shame because we use this place a lot but won’t be going here again! The staff need to have training on how to speak to customers and...
