The Pump — Restaurant in Bolsover

We had Sunday lunch here today before visiting the castle and it was lovely. There was a choice of beef or pork, I chose pork as the beef was cooked well done, which I am not so keen on, but my husband had beef and I tasted it, it was succulent and not dry at all. The Yorkshire puddings were really nice (these too, I could take them or leave them) and the veg tasty. Good sized portions for both adults and children. Comfortable and clean and really nice tiles in the bathroom! The staff were very attentive and pleasant and the food came out amazingly quickly. We were in and out in less than an hour, which was perfect as we were heading over to the castle.

As much as I want write a glowing review I equally don’t because I always want to make sure I can get a table here. I read the reviews and completely agree with them all. You cannot fault the delicious fresh food, the brilliant service or the quirky and spotless decor. My mum had home made lasagne and garlic bread which she loved and felt she had to apologise for leaving some as the food was so delicious she didn’t want them to think she didn’t like it. You definitely need to go in with an empty stomach as the portions are plentiful. I had eggs benedict which was cooked to perfection. I recently visited The Pump Café with my partner and mother, and we had such a lovely experience. We enjoyed some delicious cake and coffee—both of which were top quality.
