Nice little cafe. Slightly disappointed with my breakfast. But I'm a fussy guy with a full English. I only like my eggs scrambled, and they wouldn't do it. I don't like black pudding mushrooms or tomatoes, so I tend to swap all those for just an extra slice of toast. And they wouldn't do it. Thed remove the items (still charge me full wack) and then charge extra for the extra toast. It's weird to me, that anyone would assume that EVERYONE likes every single item on the full English list. If I was changing a tomato for a sausage/piece of bacon, I'd understand. But the substitute was mushrooms, tomatoes & black pudding in exchange for a slice of bread. Bacon and sausage barms weren't an option (not one that was offered to us or on a menu). So yeah £8.50 for two sausage, two bacon, 2 slice of toast and beans....bit much.
Upon arrival, we were given menus, without a welcome. Or indication to let us know whether we were being waited on or had to order at the till. So we sat there confused waiting for someone to come over for a good 20 mins, which I thought usually, you get seated (like at nandos or something) and they say, "have you been before? If not then, when you're ready, come over to the till and we'll do your order, in the meantime, would you like a drink"?
But nothing happened. Just "here's your menu" and disappeared for ages knowing we were sat there.
But yeah, not allowed your eggs cooked how you want them. If you don't like items on the breakfast, it's tough, you still have to pay full price. I know why they do it. It basically allows them to resell something that they've already sold. If you say "no mushroom" but pay full breakfast. You've paid for those mushrooms, and they haven't lost stock, so they sell your mushrooms on the next breakfast to make more profit
If you want to be stubborn. Don't ask for things removed, as there's no exchange. Just pay for extras, if you wish, get the whole breakfast on your plate, and leave what you don't like, so they have to bin it 👍
On the plus side, my partner...
Read moreWe understand we came on a bank holiday Monday, but when we visited we ordered two small breakfast’s and was told a 15 min waiting time. We had to wait an hour and 20 mins for our food to arrive with a 6 month old baby too.
Only reason we stayed was we had already paid and because we was hungry, also there wasn’t any other cafes open with it being bank holiday.
I believe the shop got over-whelmed by delivroo orders and was prioritising the delivroo orders. But when they have a cafe full of customers and not one table have their food or eating for an hour and half; the organising/ online order system should clearly be investigated.
In the take it took for our order to arrive the cafe prepared and handed over at least 6/7 delivroo orders to drivers some with multiple orders too.
I also feel the lovely employee at front of house should be praised as she was having to deal with the whole cafe with delayed orders with no support from owner or managers and sadly just left her to deal with the raft of it all.
The food was average but highly rate the peach...
Read moreAbsolutely LOVE Grandmas Kitchen. Get my usual bacon sandwich on their thick tiger bread and extra bacon and their tasty mini hash browns delivered to work once a week and it is always amazing and comes with a lovely little written note on the bag or receipt. Love it so much went this morning (Sunday) was chuffed when googled and it was open to order my usual. The cafe is so gorgeous with quality chunky wooden tables and it was packed out. They do oat milk too so ordered an oat milk mocha and it was piping hot and so good. The young lady who served me was so lovely. I am definitely going to be coming into the cafe again as today was to take away so next time sitting in and going to have a full breakfast as when I was waiting for my takeaway and peoples were being brought out they looked out of this world!
