WOULD GIVE ZERO IF POSSIBLE.
LITERALLY JUST LEFT.
A member of staff at the till was completely out of order and unprofessional. Swore at my husband, threatened to SLAP HIM while we visited as a family. He just completely embarrassed himself in front of my husband and in front of his colleagues, with his unnecessarily aggressive behaviour. Asked my husband if he was trying to be a gangster, despite being the one swearing and threatening physical abuse!! We are from out of town and this is the kind of hospitality we receive. He called my husband stupid three times, at which point my husband threatened to leave the restaurant altogether.
For him to speak in such an ill manner indicates that he does not value customers. His colleagues had to stop him from having a go at my husband, realising his short temper could have really put the restaurant in a bad light. They took him to the back, where he continued being aggressive throwing things about.
The reason for the altercation was that the two chicken burgers we ordered for our two children were quite clearly processed and out of the freezer. The kids nibbled at them before eating our food, from our tawa. There was nothing on the menu to suggest that these were frozen and processed - a fact that they didn’t dispute. We are eating at a restaurant and not McDonald’s. We were perfectly entitled to our viewpoint, yet this man said this was a stupid comment! If you are in a business, be prepared to receive constructive criticism! It might shock you, but people don’t like to feed their children processed food!!
The tawa was nice and couldn’t fault. Food arrived quickly too. Shame we had to finish our meal to the worst experience we’ve ever had at a restaurant.
They knocked money off for trying to feed my kids processed food. Like you could have just done that without making a scene!
This was supposed to be a 4 star review - knocking a star off for the processed food, but for his unacceptable behaviour , it’s become a 1 star. A shame, given the waiters were nice as was the food and...
Read moreI recently dined at Jaan's, a Pakistani restaurant that promises an authentic taste of South Asian cuisine, and I must say it lived up to every expectation. From the moment I walked in, I was welcomed by a warm and inviting ambiance that effortlessly combined traditional décor with modern touches.
The menu at Jaan's was diverse, featuring everything from sizzling kebabs to hearty curries. I started with the seekh kebabs, which were perfectly spiced and grilled to perfection. For the main course, the butter chicken was a standout dish—rich, creamy, and packed with flavor, paired beautifully with their soft, buttery naan. The biryani was another highlight, with fragrant rice and tender pieces of marinated meat that truly captured the essence of Pakistani cuisine.
What made the experience even more memorable was the attentive service. The staff was knowledgeable, friendly, and eager to recommend dishes based on my preferences, adding a personal touch to the meal.
For dessert, I couldn't resist the gulab jamun, which was delightfully sweet and melted in my mouth. Paired with a traditional chai, it was the perfect way to end the meal.
Overall, Jaan's is a must-visit for anyone craving authentic Pakistani flavors. Whether you're a connoisseur of South Asian food or just exploring, this restaurant will offer you a genuine taste of Pakistan with an experience that is both delicious...
Read moreAbsolutely beautiful food, really enjoyed it and would definitely recommend.
We went to Jaan's restaurant as it had recently been added to the HMC website, and we had heard good reviews. It was a weekday, so very quiet, we were actually the only people inside for the first 10 mins or so.
We ordered the Jaan's BBQ fish, full Jaan's chicken and chicken pakoras. We also tried the lamb seek kebab karahi. We ordered this with naan and roti.
The chicken was beautifully tender and moist, very flavoursome, such that we ate it with naan, and there was enough taste throughout. It wasn't too spicy though, which was a good thing. The fish was also very good, really crispy skin, and soft and succulent inside. Very nicely spiced, and again not too hot, but perfect to eat with a naan.
The chicken pakoras were slightly dry, but the taste was lovely, with a crispy and tasty batter. The seekh kebab karahi was also quite nice, definitely could taste the karahi flavour, even with the kebabs having their own flavour.
It was a lovely cozy restaurant, and the vibe was good. Music a tiny bit loud for me. Also, has a few parking spaces, around 5, but I can imagine at peak times this gets full really quickly.
Overall a lovely experience, and will definitely be coming again. It is also HMC certified now (although i believe they were getting all meat products from HMC suppliers...
