Queen's Park Pavilion — Restaurant in Bolton

This cafe has good points and bad. The prices are on the high side and the quality of the food is hit and miss. On several visits friends have ordered the chicken burger. One ine occasion someone received 2 chicken nuggets on a bap, some lettuce. Hardly the sakad as described on the menu and bit really a chicken burger. I have had lovely waffles here with berries cream ice cream. On last visit waffles were burnt and had to be sent back. On the positive side the coffee, shakes, and hot chocolate are nice. On the whole the staff are polite and friendly, always helpful. When it's busy they can look a bit overwhelmed. Toilets...

Excellent brew and proper butter on toasted teacakes. Ice cream is delicious, not too expensive and lots of flavours to choose from. Loss of star as tables hadn't been wiped down from previous opening. Staff very pleasant and toilets lovely and clean.

First visit since it re-opened and last. Went in today 2pm, chairs stacked on tables floor had obviously just been moped, strong smell of cleaning fluid. Several obvious regulars sat drinking. My friend tried to order two beef barms but was abruptly interrupted with “I’ve no beef” followed by a long glare !!
