ASK Italian — Restaurant in Borough of Swale

We have been visiting Ask at Faversham for many years...and always received pleasant service and good food in nice clean surroundings. Sadly, this was not the case on our recent visit ( 20/07/24). We requested a table in the garden...only to be told to 'go outside and find a table'. When we stood looking around the outside area for a CLEAN table...a waitress walked past saying, ' oh we've been a bit lazy tonight'...( referring to all the dirty tables obviously!). Not a great start. When a table was finally cleared..it wasn't even wiped or sanitized for us. The outside area was filthy.Serviettes and even cutlery under other tables. We ordered STARTERS ...We specifically ordered olives and garlic and rosemary bread with tapenade...AS STARTERS. The mains we ordered were..cheese fondue.Burratta carbonarra and spaghetti arrabbiatta and a side of chips. While still eating the starters..the staff brought out the mains! I said we hadn't finished our starters! The very loud waitress shouted..' Well..we can just put them on the table now '. I said ..'no..we will have the main courses...when we've finished the STARTERS! When they brought back the mains..my sons dish was cold...which they replaced. My daughters carbonarra had obviously been re heated...but by this time...we just wanted to leave! We never got the chips They did take my sons food off the bill..and a further 20%...but we don't go out looking for a free meal.We would like good food and service in the first place! Oh..and the ladies loo was disgusting ! The sanitary bin was overflowing with god knows what..and the floor was littered with dirty toilet paper! Yuk! (See photo). They obviously don't check their toilets on a regular basis. Suffice to say..we will not be returning to Ask...

First time visiting an Ask Italian, we went to the Faversham restaurant.

Upon our arrival, we were greeted by our server, Yasmin, who asked us how many people, indoor or outdoor seating and if we had any dietary restrictions. Quick, efficient and polite service.

Once we were seated in the walled garden (beautiful by the way) were given the menus and a sample of their in-house made lemon and raspberry -ade which was very nice.

After approximately 5 minutes Yasmin asked if we’re ready to order, she took our order and came back after another 3 minutes with our drinks.

We ordered starters and mains, the time between receiving our drinks to the starters arrival was perfect.

Food quality, portion size and taste were nothing short of amazing.

There was a longer wait between the starter and main, as expected, which gave ample time to talk to the better half!

The mains again were brilliant, we chose from the summer specials menu, quality and portions were again perfect.

Our server, Yasmin, was polite, cheerful and attentive, can’t ask better and to be honest can’t remember a time when I’ve had better service, she made the (rare) trip out that much more special.

Overall, the quality, speed and atmosphere of this restaurant was amazing. I will not...

My second visit to this restaurant, I genuinely cannot recommend it enough.

Unlike usual restaurants who degrade in quality, ask Italian continues to improve and I’m seriously impressed for it do so.

The waiters! We got an extremely nice and friendly waitress, I’m not sure if this is her name as one of the machines they were using was acting up so she might’ve borrowed another persons, but the waitress Ewelina genuinely made our night, not just her but the others to, one was concerned we hadn’t had our drinks yet despite waiting no more than four minutes.

Other restaurants I would’ve waited tens of minutes, I’m extremely impressed by this, cannot fault staff at all.

The food! My god, the food is a ten out of ten every time, I’ve gotten the pollo della casa twice, I’ve been here twice. That’s how good the dish is.

I tried the caramello chocolate torta and it is now my favourite dessert, so genuinely tasty.

My partner’s food was extremely impressive too.

The drinks were extremely tasty, the freshness of them were great.

I have no negatives for this restaurant, I seriously don’t. Loved every single second here, made to feel so welcome.
