Had the samosa chaat which was decent, but like the other reviews contained a little too much yoghurt. It also could have done with some green chilli chutney to spice it up a little and more finely chopped onion and tomato salad. Overall decent but a bit basic.
The kids had a burger which was a normal frozen patty but nicely done and in a fresh soft bap.
The wife enjoyed the Samosa chaat more than me so will probably be back again.
Update July 22 - just an update based on our two most recent visits where there seemed to be a common theme. Visited at lunchtime on a weekend and on both occasions the service was slow, unorganised and frustrating. Considering our order was simple, burger and chips for the kids and samosa chaat for me it shouldn't take 30 minutes to be served. On one occasion, on the table next to me I saw a group of staff members seat themselves after us and get their orders much quicker. They'd eaten and gone before my order had even arrived. 2nd load of staff then sat and got their food. I had to ask for my order at least 3 times. In the meanwhile even the owner had come and gone from the food area and should have at least made sure all was well.
Genuine advice, for weekends at least you need to recruit staff that know what they're doing here. The poor girl at the hill seemed flustered and at a point it seemed as though she was a little scared of her colleagues that were seated next to us. We were asked to be seated and our order would come to us. This doesn't work unless you're organised. A better way would be to have a side area to collect your order when it's called out.
I'd love to see the kitchen area to understand why it would take so long to grill a pre frozen patty and put together a samosa chaat.
From my observations there was just so much wrong on both these occasions and stuff that could be easily fixed if someone paid attention rather than just treating it as your bonus cash cow.
I've knocked a star off my rating...
Read moreAbsolutely disgusting behaviour by staff and management went there for lunch and there is a massive defect on their chairs that tears in to your clothing. Complained that your chair has ripped through my new jacket and this cost me £200 but all they could offer me as compensation is a sorry and can’t do anything else as managers said he couldn’t get permission from the owner Asif. How can you keep fancy furniture to seat your customers that rips through their cloths. Will suggest not to ever pay them a visit as you’ll get a good and proper service by IK collection. If they can’t pay damages to a certain extent on faulty furniture in their cafe they shouldn’t buy it in the first place or keep up with the up keep of it. If you have half decent cloths or things you wear, please don’t use the cafe/ seating area as any damage from the chairs isn’t there fault all your because you’ve decided to come to such a poor service...
Read morePoor service from the go, we walked in to ask where the high chairs were, to be pointed to a corner where I wrestled away the falling slimy chairs to pick up one in decent shape. Sat at our table and went to order food after looking at the menu, to a waiter to confirmed 3 times the meat seekh kebabs were fresh. He took payment, didn't offer a receipt as his saliva dropped literally onto the till. The food came in 10 minutes, the samosa chaat very average but the kebabs were blatantly not fresh.
I returned them, and after eating the chaat I asked if they could give something else for the same price as I returned the kebabs.
"No one else complained we've sold so many of them today"
Charged for what I didn't eat after misrepresenting it too.
Poor food and dishonest service. You can't do everything, leave food to a restaurant if you can't manage it.
Absolutely...
