First of all, the 1 star is for packaging & customer service. 🙄 Chaiiwala! Very, very overrated in my opinion. Ugh, the nerve of this restaurant for being reviewed as “excellent”. Packing was 10/10. However, the parathas weren’t even a decent size, those things weren’t even parathas. They were parathis. Absolutely appalling. Chaiiwala who you feeding? 3 year olds? Even my 3 year old won’t be full with that parathi. Fix up & stop re-heating Shezaan parathas from Al-Halal round the corner from you. Sorry for exposing you with the Shezaan parathis but it needs to be said with an overrated business like you running. Why pay for a 1 parathi from Chaiiwala when you can get 5 parathis from Al halal the same price. 😂 Make them from scratch, a bit bigger too, because come off it who even eats those size parathas.. I mean parathis? If you can’t fix your parathis just stick with chai as that’s the only thing that’s somewhat decent. Not even worth the price. It seems to be just about presentation for you.😂 Other than that, the tea was mediocre, yet I wouldn’t go back again, really disappointed. Wouldn’t recommend going here, stick to homemade parathas & chai made by your Mum. With that being said,...
Read moreAn Unforgettable Experience at Chaiwala – All Thanks to Zoe!
Our recent family visit to Chaiwala turned into a truly special evening, all because of Zoe. From the moment we arrived, Zoe welcomed us with such warmth and care that we instantly felt at home. Her attentiveness and kind nature made us feel like we weren’t just guests — we were family.
Zoe went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. She guided us through the menu with patience, checked in at the right times, and made sure everyone — from the kids to the elders — was comfortable and happy. Her genuine smile and calm presence lit up the entire evening.
What touched us the most was how natural and effortless she made it all seem. It’s rare to come across someone who not only does their job so well, but does it with such heart. Thanks to Zoe, we didn’t feel like we were dining out — we felt like we were in the comfort of our own home.
Zoe is truly a gem, and Chaiwala is incredibly lucky to have her. She deserves all the appreciation — and honestly, a well-earned raise too! We’re already looking forward to coming back, and it’s mostly because of the beautiful experience she...
Read moreWon’t let me post a new review. Maybe as I’ve written one already. Jokes on me for returning here despite bad experience. Went today and ordered a Victoria sponge swirl. I had paid for this and then the worker came and gave me a sponge cake instead because they didn’t have what I ordered. No idea why he didn’t tell me they don’t have it, and assumed I’d like the sponge cake instead. I even asked him for a refund but he was dumbfounded. To not cause a scene, I ate one bite of the sponge cake and it tasted like dry warburton bread. Gave it back and I was offered to have anything else from the menu. Why didn’t they just offer me my money back? Opted for the 1000 degrees Celsius gajar halwar which also tasted awful.
Don’t assume people will just accept something else, it’s the right thing to offer a refund, and tell people what you’ll offer them before you just give it. Pathetic service. Everytime I come here they let you down. I only come as they have decent pink tea but they didn’t have it in this instance.
PS. The table we sat at was broken and needs fixing, not idea when you’re trying to place hot...
