“Rebranded as Cafe Rajas” 1 of 5 Reviewed 10 March 2016 I've tried reviewing it by adding a new place, but for some reason it came up as a review of bradford! this place has been rebranded and re-opened but I'm sure it will close down again. 2 Chicken Wings cut in half to make a portion of 4! LOL they are proper jokers. It is worse than when it was owned by an acquaintance of mine, as at least he would listen to concerns.
The pilau was hard and cold, but to make matters worse the chiken wings was half the portion stated but with the peices cut in half to make 4! That wasn't where it ended as things were about to get worse....
I've been here before, and the waiter service was excellent along with the popadoms (previously greasy and soggy!). The roti is fresh and crisp, and to be honest the pickled achar chicken wasn't too bad either. We asked for mild, they gave us milks. However, as a foodie I couldn't stop laughing at the chicken wings cut in half! I was told it was a modest portion but to be honest if they weren't stongy the wings would be massive - but they decided to cut the portion in HALF!!!! Lol, that's right the breast side of the wing constituted one peice and the other side of the wing was marketed as another.
The service took ages, and then for dessert they started getting angry at closing time despite the fact they took an hour serving. What resulted was a dismal finale, as we were served cold custard with a doughy old cornflake tart - also very cold! I really wanted to give them 2 stars as the peri full chicken meal is nice. However, the cold and hard pilau rice topped it all off as they had done the cardinal sin of cheap and nasty cuisine - got THREE items messed up!
If you eat anything like a dog, then knock yourself out - it is relatively well priced for grilled meals. However if you like your food warm, fresh, and served in full portion you will be thoroughly disappointed. Also rude and dismissive in regards to complaints at the till, the choice is...

Very good offers, for e.g. 3 pizzas for £9.99. Only problem is, for those who have a small family and want for e.g. a half and half pizza it is £5.50. Cost aside (maybe they want to make more customers) the taste is horrible. The meatfeast tastes of eggs and does not have real meat in. The chicken pizza is pieces of multi coloured multi tasting old pieces of chewy substance that is claimed to be chicken but is horrible. The attitude of the staff is anything but welcoming. The seating is not to be touched just in case the rest of the faux leather chair rips or tears off. You can stand there whilst waiting and awkwardly stare at your feet because everyone in there is like they have just buried a loved one. The offers on the windows are printed in very big wording that whoever spun their car around or jumped off their busses early for getting a burger or anything else will find out that the offers shown are for a single burger not a meal or something totally nonsensical which will cause you to feel like you should have been told before you got there in the first place.
Overall, a typical money focussed takeaway who don't really have anything but a single famous item and the rest is just doing okay. (Maybe not even that, I certainly didn't notice any good 'special' advertised)
If you don't have anyone to cook for you or you are homeless then I'd say a single 99p burger or something is where the first experience ends with this place otherwise there are plenty of more misrable places on Leeds road that have decent food and have queues of people wanting...
Read moreRajas happens to have the most obnoxious and arrogant staff under one roof serving mediocre standard food. The staff are rude and lack even the most basic manners, never mind basic customer service. When asked why portion sizes differ when ordering over the phone compared to what is advertised on justeat, the response was more than a joke - "We cut them in half", no clarity on whether this means 4 wings are cut in half or any further explanation. The food provided is not prepared well at all, either burnt or undercooked. The standards were good a few years back but now they have let all slip and just on a down hill roll. Just the conduct of the staff put you off ordering from here. Bare in mind, this was the first time I had decided to order from them since my last experience with them which was over 2 years ago, where I had to go in the shop to deal with a rude staff member. No...
