The Lounge — Restaurant in Bradford

My friend and I went in for lunch and I was very pleasantly surprised. I thought it was perhaps a bit like a greasy spoon cafe, but it was spacious and airy. Staff were so good at their jobs. They ensured we had everything we needed or wanted. The food tasted fresh and tasty. My friend and I ended up staying for approximately four hours, maybe longer. We hadn't had a good catch up face to face for a long time. Not once did either of us feel as though they needed our table, we were asked if they could get anything else for us. The staff were superb on customer service, friendly, polite and professional. I enjoyed it so much that I have since taken another friend there for lunch and she too enjoyed it very much indeed. The only complaint I would have, is that on previous occasions, my friend has picked me up from my door and with my blue badges, I was able to walk, with sticks, the very short walk to our booked table. (I would recommend booking a table as it gets very busy over the lunchtime period). However, when I took my other friend, I booked a table, telling them I would be in my wheelchair. They kindly asked if I wanted to sit inside or outside. I chose inside because the weather was extremely hot. Again, I told them I was a wheelchair user. When I got there, there was a large step, I asked if they had a ramp and she said no, it wasn't a huge problem as we sat outside. I couldn't remember from my previous visits if there was a step or steps to get inside, but on two separate calls I told them I was a wheelchair user. So staff should've been more aware and certainly for the future. I am not going to knock a star off for this because everything else was perfect. Staff even came out and suggested that because it was so hot and my friend and I had been sat in the sun for so long that they thought it would be wise for us to sit in the shade. I thought that this was extremely kind and very thoughtful so I am not going to knock a star off. A lovely place, food is yummy, cakes were delicious (I think they are hand made). Cannot recommend enough. Superb place to drink, eat and meet friends....

We ordered a Full breakfast which included a fresh orange drink when the orange arrived it was warm as as we were seated outside in the Hot sun with the high temps averaging 28degrees was not ideal, After a 30min wait we eventually received what i can only describe as a poor attempted cooked Breakfast the Sausage was over cooked the bacon had been folded???which was like eating card ,the harsh brown was soaked in cooking oil and just fell apart, all the tables were occupied which meant 2 waiting staff members were clearly struggling with the volume of customer demand. We went inside to pay the bill which where i expressed my option on the Breakfast experience a young man behind the counter tried to interrogate me on where we would normally eat breakfast which was extremely rude and had no customer service ability's on dealing with a customer complaint at this point i confirmed my original complaint and left well done the Lounge in Bingley your attention to customer satisfaction is clearly not a strong point and we will certainly convey our experience if asked about this...

Cannot recommended this gorgeous cafe enough!

We had never been before but 7 of us turned up on the Sunday (today) of august bank holiday weekend with no booking and although busy, by a strike of luck they could accommodate us.

They promptly took our order and brought us our drinks. They were extremely friendly and even brought smaller cutlery for our little ones.

Our food arrived in good time and was absolutely beautiful, all freshly baked and prepared. I can easily say this is the BEST place we have been for breakfast in a very long time.

Unfortunately, due to no fault of their own, my sister was unwell and ended up fainting while we was there. The staff COULD NOT do enough!! One lovely lady, Verity, took very good care of her. She got down on the floor with her and talked to her all the way through.
