We went there today for a late lunch, we thought we should try it now it's been redone and it be nice to support a place local to us. We were shown to a table and given menus, but the staff didn't ask if we wanted a drink, they walked off. Then nothing, no-one came and after 25 minutes my partner went to the bar to ask for a drink and only when the bar staff brought the drink to our table... No glass just a bottle I must add, did they take our meal order. Sadly they came back to say they didn't have rice that's advertised on the menus. I never found the staff friendly at all and to be told they were cleaning and forgot about us. So we felt cleaning was far more important than serving your customers. Had we not heard the table next to us, ask where their food was or waited so long even for a drink and we had to go to the bar to request a drink we may have chosen another meal. I was disappointed in the service, yet I looked forward to trying you out. Read moreI remember this as "the Robin Hood" and will always be that. I was dismayed that the beautiful artwork on the wall had been painted over... And a bird had been put there instead... The pub was much as I remember it. A new "walled garden" at the front gives a pleasant atmosphere, but the place is showing signs of damage after the recent storms (that has not been fixed yet). Prices weren't "too" painful on the wallet. Staff were very polite and friendly, and went way beyond what is expected from the norm... The outside heater wasn't working on our visit, and it was a tad chilly, which has a negative effect on my narrative, but overall, the company I was in, made those irritations pale into insignificance.
