I've been living in Bristol for the last 10 years, my family was visiting me for a week and imagine where to start with for the first dinner...tadaaa. It had to be the Beirut Mezze since it's been the whole time in my top 3 restaurants in Bristol. Beautiful cosy cave where to feel welcome (just to note there's WIFI, but might not be available at all times), wonderful lebanese music (it's one of the things I value the most every time I go) and the helpful and kind staff, leaded by Israr, who have always made me feel like a star (it's a pleasure to meet them and have a quick chat as they sometimes are reaaally busy, depending on the time you go). Could talk about each ocassion, but will sum up this last one and menu. Half of us had my usual combo which is the pre-theater menu (almost everything is outstanding, but will mention baba ganoush, falafel, humous and salad as the best), perfect to try a little bit of everything in their kitchen plus chicken cubes and lamb (kafta beirut). The other 3 girls ordered spinach pastries (not so recommended), some more baba and chicken.

They were all delighted with this first night in Bristol and the restaurant and definitely need to point out it's suitable for everyone (veggies and vegan welcome) and baked aubergine, all chicken and lamb preparations and fish plus all the above comments regarding food.

Love you guys and wish you all the best for as many years as you can (which is not easy considering how long restaurants have last for) which I would love to be infinite....

Brief: Food is 5-star, absolutely delicious but it’s expensive. You can check out their full menu & prices online on their website!

Very nice ambience - the restaurant is underground and it has a really nice cave vibe to it. Just know that you will have no connection down there though.

Food tasted exactly like what my family used to cook - whoever is in the back is chefing it UP.

I got shish tawook (chicken skewers) with a side of rice and tabouleh, hummus, fries on the side, and you get complimentary pita bread as well. I also ordered the Kellaj but I’d say don’t get it; It’s literally two small pita breads stuffed with melted halloumi cheese for £8.99 which is not worth it. Everything else was top notch in terms of taste, and I CLEARED that bowl of hummus.

The bill also cleared my card 😭 £9.50 for a singular bowl of hummus is egregious. I think getting platters for two is a better deal so if you have someone to come with you then maybe go for that.

The prices are steep but I will guarantee that you will leave this place...

Popped here for lunch today with friends. We all had the £4.99 lunch special. I was seriously impressed.

As we entered, there was a sign on the door announcing that they can only take cash as they are unable to get a signal for the card machine. One person in our party had already warned us of this, but it's good they let everyone know on entry.

You walk into a very pretty looking underground restaurant. The decor and atmosphere make it feel like you are in another country. We were greeted by friendly staff and shown to a table straight away.

The service was timed perfectly. We had time to chat and soak up the atmosphere before someone took our order, but not so much time that we were wondering where the staff were.

Food was delivered in a timely manner, was hot, incredibly tasty and very generous portions. For £4.99 per person, I wasn't expecting as much, or as great quality. The drinks weren't that expensive either.

I will definitely be going back here in the future and definitely...

Interesting setting, quite atmospheric but noisy sitting in the middle. No WiFi or data which is just a mild inconvenience. The spicy lamb sausage was very nicely seasoned and the portion size was reasonable but it could really have used some kind of staple, like rice or potatoes, spice on its own can be too much. The heat, if you ask for it to be spicy, was reasonable. I wasn't crazy about the texture of the sausage but that's normally just how lamb sausages are. I had a bit of the vegetable samosa and that was good too but could easily be mistaken for shop bought. The mixed grill was pretty delicious. I much preferred the chicken to the lamb. The meat was not dry and it was a bit smoky and very nicely spiced. The sauce below was especially good. The rice was fine, well seasoned. What it REALLY could have done with was a SALAD. It would have really elevated it. The manga juice was good, maybe a touch pricey at 4.99 but I believe it was fresh.
