Creams Cafe Bristol — Restaurant in Bristol

The smell coming in was incredible and my mouth was watering from the wide selection of flavours. They weren't busy and we waited by the gelato over five minutes before anyone came to check on us. I sampled one flavour, but I knew what I wanted and ordered a scoop of snickers and a scoop of stratitella. The snickers was great; creamy and all the right flavours. The stratetella was awful. It was grainy and the flavour was off. I have never tried an ice cream I didn't like so I took it up to explain and the man was very rude. I was met with a "so what do you want me to do about it?" Then he tasted it and goes, "Well it tastes fine to me. That's why you should have sampled a couple flavours before you chose. Seriously what do you want me to do? It's not my fault of you don't like it." I bit my tongue, not wanting to say something rude back. I would have gladly sampled more if I would have been served right away or if the ice cream place wasn't a branch of a chain I've frequented many times before so I knew exactly what I wanted. I shouldn't have to taste test for quality control before ordering! The other worker stepped up and to him I said, "The ice cream is grainy and the flavour is off, I at least wanted you to know so you could replace it in your freezer." He asked if I wanted a scoop of another flavour and I got a scoop of pistachio. It was fine but not great either. Visited the Bristol branch for the first time tonight. Ordered 2 slices of Carrot cake to take away. Thought it was odd when the girl behind the counter told the senior member (possibly manager) that there was none left and he told her to go to fetch some from the back room. Was told to take a seat while the packed it up , when I walked outside could see condensation on the inside of the box and cake felt warm, all the frosting had melted off and the cake was warm to touch. When I took it back the manager said that they “usually heat cake as people like it “and when I pointed it is something you would normally do to carrot cake he then went over to the girl behind the counter and looked like he was quizzing her for doing something wrong when it was blatantly his fault after obviously ordering her to get the frozen cake and trying to defrost it so to make a sale. Requested money back as I don’t appreciate being lied to and also people who try to blame others when they are just following...

Incredibly rude staff. The cashier with big sideburns insulted our party several times which was completely uncalled for and not what I'd expect from a diner type restaurant. Then the server/waiter was walking around with earphones in, barging past people and dropping the food on the table before storming off. A second waitress/server with white/pale purple hair ignored everyone, but I think her English was just poor.

The manager was in plain clothes and couldn't care less. I got a really unprofessional atmosphere from the whole experience, with staff clearly taking cues from the manager. The whole place was dirty, from the staff to the shop floor and windows. Gloves are never changed, I don't know why they bother wearing them. Why change gloves when you can save money and keep the same ones ey?

The food was actually quite nice, I'm just really disappointed by the staff. I'll be letting everyone I know how bad it is here. Avoid...
