We had previously dined at Goram & Vincent in September 2022 to celebrate my mother’s 50th birthday. Prior to booking, I specifically inquired whether you could accommodate food allergies, as I have celiac disease. I was reassured that you could. Upon arrival, I made it clear to the waitress that I am celiac and cannot consume anything containing gluten, nor anything that has been in contact with gluten through surfaces or cooking oils. Once again, I was assured that the meal I ordered was gluten-free. Unfortunately, within minutes of leaving the restaurant, I realized that the meal was not gluten-free, and I suffered the consequences for days afterward.
We reported this incident to your customer service team, who identified the issue and compensated us with a gift voucher equivalent to the value of our meal. This voucher was explicitly stated to be valid for two years, giving us the opportunity to return for a better experience.
My parents decided to give your restaurant another try on August 9th, only to encounter further disappointment. When my father presented the voucher to pay for their meal, the server informed him that the voucher was only valid for one year and refused to accept it. My father then showed the voucher sleeve, where it was clearly written that it was valid for two years, and explained the situation. However, the server responded rudely and loudly, insisting that the voucher was not valid, and demanded that my parents pay the full amount.
This exchange took place in the middle of the restaurant, with no effort to handle the matter discreetly, causing my parents considerable embarrassment. Despite my father’s polite explanation that this was not his mistake, the server refused to budge and did not offer any alternative. When my father requested that the issue be escalated, the server made a call but returned with the same refusal. My parents were left with no choice but to follow the server to the desk to avoid further embarrassment.
Ultimately, my father had to firmly insist that he would only pay the difference between the voucher and the total bill, as the error was on your end, not his. After a tense exchange, the server finally agreed to accept the voucher but remained rude throughout the interaction and offered no apology for the confusion.
I am appalled by the poor level of service my parents received, especially at a restaurant of your standing. This incident has further convinced us to advise our friends and family to avoid your...
Read moreTwas the lunch before Christmas, and all through the place, The in-laws were smiling, all brimming with grace. Four days of their company, not just one night— So off to a restaurant to soften the plight. The Goram & Vincent, with its scenic display, A bridge in the distance—the Avon, they say. “Isn’t it lovely?” they cooed with delight, While I squinted and thought, It’s a bridge, not Versailles. To the menu I turned, to distract from the chat, Where topics range wildly from pensions to flats. A prawn starter arrived, all sweetness and bliss, The kind of safe choice you’re unlikely to miss. Then came the steak, so meaty, so rare, Cooked just as I’d asked—yes, they do care. My father-in-law poked at his medium slice, And sighed, “Well, it’s not quite as tender as mine.” I drained my Malbec, rich, smoky, divine, The kind of red nectar that smooths any line. A glass turned to two, and the talk ebbed and flowed— A proper lubricant for the festive overload. The family adored it—the bridge, the tableau, I nodded along, playing the pro. But let’s face it, the view is a ploy for the masses— A bridge is a bridge, not the Louvre through rose glasses. And yet, as we lingered, dessert came around, A sticky fig pudding so rich and profound. It silenced the table—oh, glorious feat, Four nights to go, but at least there was sweet. So to Goram & Vincent, I give you a cheer, For saving my sanity at this time of year. It’s perfect for in-laws, with wine poured in spades— But next time, perhaps, I’ll eat out for...

We were there using the First Table app on Saturday to celebrate a birthday. Arrived at 5.30. We were the only customers in the restaurant at the time. We passed about 5 or 6 staff members who were stood around at the entrance chatting. So, should have been good service.
Sadly not. Our lady server seemed unable to smile. With us anyway. Though seemingly had no problem with the family who arrived later.
We ordered drinks and food. Starters on the whole were fine. Nothing special. Mackerel was nice.
Mains arrived. My tuna was good. My husband’s pork dish however was tough and the “crispy pork skin” nowhere to be seen. He said he wasn’t enjoying it, so decided to return it. The survey waitress asked if he would like something else - yes, the tuna please. At least he knew it was good.
But no - his second plate arrived and I know tuna should be served rare or medium rare - but this tuna had hardly made acquaintance with the pan. About 1mm of the steak was cooked, the rest was red raw. Nothing like the tuna on my plate, which was cooked all the way through (prob slightly over done if I was being honest).
Surely waitress asked if his food was ok - she didn’t really want to hear the answer. Instead walking away as she said “it’s cooked medium rare”.
We also had to ask twice for the second round of drinks.
Nice view, but it would be much better if someone trained the...
