Could do with a biscuit option with the coffee I think, ---and make sure all the team keep up the quality of the coffee served up, which at times dips rather --, myself, than cake or nothing in such terms. But it's great anyway what one still finds here. Read more2025: We've been enjoying coffee & cake or yummy lunch or all-day breakfast here for 12 years now and just love the place. Always a choice of two gluten free cakes, and jacket potatoes (bacon & brie) or gluten-free breakfast. My husband loves the burgers for a treat. The outside tables are in a little sun trap and a lovely spot to people watch. Really friendly atmosphere, and one of my favourite things is that the staff are really helpful and inclusive of patrons with different abilities. A real community café for Westbury-on-Trym. Thank you guys! COVID Review: Tier 3 special... great outdoor barbeque to warm to, doing fresh burgers, falafels, pulled-pork baps to take-away. Gluten free breakfast and the cakes all still available too... this is as good as it gets in Dec 2020 :-) Pre-covid Review: I bring my mother here most weeks - they are so helpful with the wheelchair and very obliging with adapting the menu to suit her (she loves mushrooms on toast). Great coffee and my favourite gluten-free millionaire's shortbread :-) Lovely venue for meeting friends or enjoying a quiet cuppa, late breakfast or simple lunch on your own. Often get chatting with others - very friendly place so allow time to take your turn being served. New proprietor is gradually modernising and developing more of a bar style so the old-fashioned kitchen cafe is becoming more fresh & open looking. Outside tables are wonderful in fine weather - chilling in the little precinct among the glorious flowers of Edith Wilmott florist opposite. My Dad used to get his hair cut in the barbers next door while I minded Mum...
Read moreAfter my first visit I gave this ‘establishment’ a poor review. After sleeping on this, I decided to delete it and go back a couple of months later a see if it was a one off and give a fairer review. I wish I hadn’t. The menus are still so tatty and like a dog has chewed away at the lamination. The ‘gentle’man in there was demanding and rude to his staff. This is something I witnessed on both of my visits. I ordered the beef burger and a cappuccino. I doubt there was any milk in my cappuccino at all! Could’ve easily been foam from fairy liquid. The beef burger was crusty and tasteless. I heard clattering pans and all of a sudden the boss was shouting at the poor cook. I can’t believe the lack of respect for his own staff.
Avoid this establishment at all costs! Many local news outlets are complaining about the state of Westbury-upon-Trym of late, it’s clear this cafe is one of the key...
